A used car is fine as long as you have the documentation to prove it was serviced and well maintained.. buying used is a great way to go, if all records (maintenance and otherwise) are disclosed..
you lose so much driving it off the lot..

i never did the 15k or 30k service. honestly, they're for suckers, or people who have no automotive knowledge.
thanks, but i'll rotate my tires and change the oil myself, and keep the $300.

btw, i'm not recommending others to skip their scheduled services. it's just what i did.

Revving at 9K...
After talking to the service guy and asking him exactly what they do for the 15K service, I found out that if you have rims or CAI's, you do not need the service. Because that is basically all they do, rotate tires and change air filter.
But yeah like matt said, better to just do it yourself and skip the big dent in your wallet.

Most dealers will change your oil (which has been done plenty of times in 30k miles already), put in a fresh air filter (GTO has a CAI, right?) and rotate and balance (if needed) your tires.
No big deal.

Oh and BTW, I rotated my tires in November/December and March/April when I took the snows off. I rotated the position of the stock wheels. I wrote where they came from on the inside of the rim so I knew.

I've never done this 15K, 30K etc things on four previous Japanese cars and never had a problem. I did however have belts, hoses etc. replaced, when I and the owner's manual deemed neccessary.

i agree w/ everyone, the 30k service is a waste of money...
your tires are rotated front to back and vice versa...directional is left and right

This maybe a stupid question. But if your tire is directional? How would rotating work?

My previous car an Integra GSR - I did the valve lashes and the ABS Brake fluid at 30K marks.
I should know this but do our car's valves need to be adjusted?
Dealers charge alot to "check" stuff. I skipped most if not all of that. One thing that I will do in the future is have the dealer periodically check the brakes. They can catch a caliper that is sticking and free it. If you let it go... well you guys know what happens... a big brake job bill.
Anyway, I drove my GSR for 76K without doind ALL of the dealer recommended service. Just followed the manual.
