Do your "fins" on the front lip protrude less than the versus? (see pic below). That's the one thing I didn't like about that kit. Also I think it would be nice if the middle was somewhat filled in without any gap between it and the lower grille, and also didn't look like a "chin" (see pic). Would come down and be angled slightly back under the existing lower grille piece, then come straight across to the fins which would break the angle forward and out. Apologies for my pisspoor MS Paint skills, but hopefully you get the idea. I couldn't reproduce the shadow of the angle of the fin on the right side, but I like how that would add definition to the lip instead of being just smooth all the way around. Just picture the right side I tried to doctor looking the same as the left.
I'm extremely excited about this prospect.... keep up the amazing work Rondog!

I think the front lip you have on your car looks great. No real changes need made. I think we would all like to see some more pics from different angles of the front. The rear bumper is what needs the most attention.

Versus kit RonJon kit The front is real classy, MUCH better than intial designs from 6 months ago..........the versus front looks like shit, and even the sides aren't as nice as the RonJon one...........leave everything alone except the rear, just make the rear part carry around just a little around the back bumper. Overall,

The sides that RonJon have are the Versus sides, there is no difference. Keep up the good work RonJon.

alright ron, this is what you should doo, make a survey and ask if people like the verus sides better or more of a clean oem tl side better. Therefore, you know what concept product has greater market value. I have a feeling most people on here want more of a very clean and sleek kit. I having a feeling you sale a lot more kits if the back was reworked and the sides were more oem looking, but anyways your on a great path so far

i personally like the blocky look of rons kit right now over the oem tl kit. i like the rear the way it is. if a lip is added that goes all the way across the bumper like the versus, it makes the bumper look fat imo.

Yeah i think making the middle part of the front lip a little lower makes it more of a blockly look. It also looks more like the SEMA front lip. As far as the rear... its fine with me but it would be nice if you could fill in the air vents... so this kit will be shipped painted? Im ready to purchase a kit anytime now...
how much would u estimate the cost of the front lip only? I can get the sides and rear from Versus for cheap out here in Arizona.
keep up the good work RonJon !!

The added cost of fabricating new side skirts would probably push away more buyers than if the Versus sides were used. There's gotta be a compromise. As much as people around here bitch about how much mods for our cars cost, I can totally see why he would want to keep the costs of this kit as absolutely low as possible. Designing and fabrication of a new front, rear, and side skirts would easily cost upwards of $1200 and the kit would not sell.

Honestly, I wouldn't give my money upfront unless I knew it was someone I could trust.

Thats true, alot of people talk about wanting the kit, but I am not counting on deposits or help. I am investing my own dough. I cannot do new sides, the tooling is thousands of $ and the Versus sides is probably how I would end up making them anyway. the front is the most crucial part, and it does look more like the SEMA kit than a Versus. I'm not gonna go out of my way to make the kit busier, just to step further away from anything that is already out there. Bottok line- I'm making a conservative kit that solves the flat looking rounded nose of the CL, adding volume and mass while giving it an updated look that is both OEM quality and Styling. So the sides are gonna have to be Versus, rear will have to be 2 piece but maybe a seperate design, and the front will be VERY close to what I came up with. I like it, and i know it will move pretty well, once people see what it does for the car.

Good work bro, I like the front and sides... as with other members on the rear, I think its needs a little more blend... Other than that excellent work..

I like the front! But i dont care for the versus sides and rear, and i have the versus sides and rear in my basement. The part of the kit the comes up i think needs to be cut off like in these photoshop pics i made, and the parts on the door need to get lowered behind the door and the one in front of the door gone. Personaly i think the way to go on sides is the same as the TL OEM kit. just my 2 cents!!

the front is a plus. the sideskirts are a lilttle too much. but the rears shouldnt show much of a curve to it (where the rear piece meets the rear bumper).
i say....think skyline R34.........

I've decided to only do the front lip, those who want to do a JT Autostyles sides and/or rear can do so, and those who want to do a Versus sides and'or rear can do so as well, even those who want to retro fit a Tl side and rear can do that. My whole problem with the CL, was hat there were no good front lips out there. Now there will be, I'll be starting production on this bish this week. check the Black market in a day or so for pricing... thanks for the opinions too.
BTW, if things look optimistic after the release in spring, I will consider doing new sides and rear from scratch, but for now, i haven't had the kind of response i was counting on. and the kit will be available pre-painted or just ployurethane.

this is alot different than the Versus kit, and as decisive as i am, I am trying to see how I can keep cost down while still offering sides and a rear skirt to match the front. the rear would just be a wrap around skirt with no big cuts, just a way to lower the rear of the car to match the sides.
