OK its tire time AGAIN, maybe Falken st-115's?

So right now I have the Falken GRB-fk451 235/45/17 on stock 03 rims. They handled great but only lasted 15k so I want something that will last a little longer. The specs on these are ...RPM is 820 and the weight is 25.9lbs each and the max load is 1477. I was looking at the falken st-115 now which say they are still ultra high performance but the UTG rating is 360 where as the 451's are 280. So they should last longer but they are 26.8lbs. These #'s are off the falken website and they are "shipping weight" My question is will the extra pound per tire make a difference in how quick the car is...will I notice that?

Does anyone other than Shawn S have these...if so how are they??

I don’t know if you’re going to get THAT much more life out of the ST-115’s like I have.

I’m at about 8,500 and the tread is pretty much half-gone.
They’re not on the car right now because of the weather, but I don’t really expect more then another 7-8K out of them unless they start to wear better.
I figure this summer will be good and then I’ll need new rubber the summer of 2004.

I may have done one or two burnouts with them though
Any kind of performance tire and aggressive driving is going to pay the penalty with wear.
I’ve heard some brands only last 10-12K.

I am curious what others are getting out of their rubber though.
Please post.

Yeah Shawn thats what I am kinda thinking now...I have only read a few things about the st-115 and it has all said they wear fast. Maybe I need something else....I dont want hard ass tires but I want some that grip some and last maybe 30-40k. What about the RE950's???

I hear Jetzen are good for 100,000 miles
But the tread compound is harder then the plastic keys you’re typing on.

No tires that end in an O....Toyo Proxies T1-S have proven to be the only exception to the rule
