OK final decision on my next car?!!!!!!!!!!

I know ive posted many threads on M3 vs my 01 cl-s, but honestly i need somthing faster with stick, and under 23k?
And it has to be nice looking too?

My choices: 1995-1999 M3: One of favorite cars of all time, great looking but played out style by M3 imitators, very fun to drive, and mod ability is unlimited

Subaru WRX: I dont think it looks that nice and is very cheap inside, but it is fun to drive and has very good mod abilities

Audi S4: german built(unreliable), fast car, Turbo engine meaning mods, and not to hard on the eyes

Honda S2000: fast, great looking, sporty drive, juss pure sports car IMO, but its a soft top vert and i dont like how they look when they are put up

Lastly: My choice but to expensive, 2003 cl type-s 6 speed, but only problem FWD. other then that i wouldnt mind i love cl's but they're arent sporty enough.

juss stick to what you have and save up fer a bigger and better car... u do have a lotta posts "considering" ur next car... my reply is "why not keep saving?".. the more you save, the more possibilites and the better the car you'll get

Re: OK final decision on my next car?!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think you NEED another car at all. Aren't you like 16-17 years old....You have a much better car than most people twice your age. You should just keep your current car and be happy with what you have. Mod it a little while your at it.

I say get a S2000.

So 23k you can get a low mileage one. If you buy a e36 m3 then it will have much more mileage on it if you only want to spend 23k.

I dont think he should drive a M3 without traction control since hes under 18 years old. (wow i sound like a old man)

Does the s2k even have traction control? HMM.

Once you get to college, you'll prob be broke. I'm only halfway through, and I wish I didn't have a car payment every month. Yeah, so I have a nice car, but I'm in the poorhouse. For 16, the CL is a damn nice car.

S2000 would be worse than an M3 as far as being twitchy at the limits. It doesn't have any type of traction control and I would only get it if he has alot of RWD wheel time.

what do mean i cant drive the m3 if im under 18, i know what you mean, but man have i been through alot of crazy shit with cars since the age of 14. Not like this means anything but my dad has a 1997 325is 5 speed and i can control that very easily, and ive got FWD mastered. But the M3 is probably dfferent territory!!!!!!!!

I really know how to control cars, its the amount of experience in bad situations not the age that counts. But i still will be carefull with an M3. seen alot of wrecks!!

I've looked at a lot of the same cars on your list and have axed them all. I want something faster and all of the cars I have tested are about average performance wise today. I have my heart set out on a 98-00 C5 Coupe or 99-00 FRC, both in 6 speed. A stock C5 is fast enough for me and when I get bored there is a huge aftermarket behind the LS1.

FYI... I have a brand new A4 loaner and the ESP on it almost got me into an accident. I was on my usual route to work today and I came around a corner brisk, but nowhere near the limits. It had just started to drizzle and the roads were slightly damp, nothing I hadnt experienced before. Well, I hit the apex of the turn I drive on everyday, and the car strarted to understeer. I then let off the gas and let the car do the work. Well, ESP sensed the understeer conditions and applied brake to what felt like the inside rear tire. The car proceeded to then snap into oversteer which I corrected with steering inputs. Again, I was going relatively slow.

i want to be believe you, but for some reason i cant. im not trying to hate on you or anything, but jesal is right. at 16 yrs old, unless you are about to go be pro driver, a car without tcs may be too much for you. but good luck. i would get an s2k. you dont need anymore than 2 seats, and a used s4 or m3 would get expensive to maintain.

As for maintance, BMWs cost a lot to maintain properly. And when you have a Motorsport product, cost even more to maintain. If you think that the Acuras service is high, try BMW's.

Yea it was weird. Also, I noticed when testing out the brakes that if you initially stab the brakes and then apply more pressure, the system goes into full ABS. I am sure the system has some sort of electronic braking system that senses this. Too many electronic safetly systems on cars these days.

Serious, I feel you on this issue, I'm drivin an 01 CL-S too, and I love this car but I constantly think about the tranny going out on me at 100,001 miles and think about how much of a hole that will burn in my pocket, cause I don't want my parents to pay for shit (though they can more than afford it).

I think about investing a few grand from my savings into a 6 sp but it just ain't worth it. If I'm lucky then the tranny will blow before 100k (30k to go) and I'll get a new one that will (hopefully) work. If I'm not lucky then I will find a way to break that shit myself. Hold out and relax. I don't know how good of a driver you are, but "I've already mastered FWD" sounds like you might be overestimating your own skill.

I've already mastered FWD
U can have 1 foot, 3 fingers on one hand, 1 eye, and the driving experience of a newborn baby to "master" FWD. Nothing to master.
