Yesterday, I was at Wallymart and they had 5qt oil jugs on sale. I was looking at Valvoline SynPower and Mobil 1. I notice that the jugs or the qts dont have the acura/honda HT0-06 certification. I recall sometime back that both brands had the certification. What is going on that these two oils dont have the certification anymore?

The funny thing is that Penzzoil Synthetic and the Ultimate both have the acura/honda certification. Anybody has any info on this or has noted the change in labeling from the two manufactures mentioned above. I still purchase the Valvoline Synthetic for $23 a jug. Not a bad price for synthetic oil and has been what I used since I purchased the car in 2003. Autozone still has the best deals when for $29.99 you get Mobil 1 and Bosh oil filter .

 

That spec was only debuted for the K23A1.

So this was just for the Turbocharge engine in the RDX

 

That Honda/Acura certification doesn't mean jack for us. Any of those oils will run great in your car and give you the protection you need.

 

they just didn't wanna bend over and take it up the A** from acura to get their certification. just more $ which no business likes spending
