Air Conditioning

I feel like the boy who cried wolf over here. Issue came up when running to the store this evening.

When putting the AC blower on the half way position it starts making a brrrrr sound on the passenger side and the AC will turn itself on and off sporadically. THe noise will subside when lowering the amount of desired air and so will the other symptoms. Also, when putting the blower on the maximum setting i get a “Full” symbol occasionally. Still learning all the cars little quirks.

Normal. Also, you will see white smoke coming from the vent on hot days. Again normal as it's dehumidifying the air. And normal is hissing & normal is vibration when the AC kicks on & off. It cycles.

^ not my car boss

only gets louder on the outside of the car when a/c engages...

the brrr sound on the passenger side i dunno what that is or what ur referring to... maybe its the fan?? mine was making odd noises intermittently and i just bought a new fan so it'd be super smooth and quiet as it should.

You could have a leaf or something in the system thats hitting the fan.

The burring occurs continuously and only on a specific setting. I do notice the on and off sound and thats normal. I think its the fan that vibrating at a specific oscillation. I’m glad you told me about the smoke though that would of freaked me out haha Im just wondering why at this particular setting when the burring occurs that it also happens to stop and start blowing air.

Yeah I’m right there with ya. I think replacing the fan would get rid of the noise but still the random on and off of blowing air is kinda strange.

Just noticed the multi-quote feature. Its only at a certain setting (when the air blower is set to the 3 o’clock position. Where would I look for leaves?

There is a cabin air filter. Might be time to change it, simple 5 minute job.....

Bought some filters and they will go in this weekend. I have come to the conclusion that the issue is the motor... not sure exactly what but when I change out the filters I’ll have a better chance of locating the causative factor.

yea it's the motor allright... a picky sob... only takes 5 mins to fix tho. i couldn't use mine on full auto because when it changed rpms it'd make that friggin noise. like plastic tapping on itself.

don't think so.. she pumped hard but i think the bearing inside it was on its ends. the fan itself looked fine, it was all inside the motor. I don't think it was easily fixable tho. if i remember correctly it's not designed to be taken apart (there are no screws, except for those that hold it in place).
