Oil by-pass filters

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but has anyone installed or considered using an oil bypass filter?

I'm planning to keep my CL-S a long time and thought the idea behind an oil bypass filter sounded pretty good.

My uncle installed one (Amsoil By-Pass) on a '98 Civic that he supercharged at the same time and he never had problems with it nor did I hear much else about it after that although he only had the car for a year. I believe that you can even send in a sample of the oil periodically and the will anaylize it to find out exactly whats in it. Neat idea, but a little fanatic for me.
