Oil in the Intake Manifold

I pulled off my upper intake manifold to install a Thermoblok spacer this weekend. When I did, I found puddles of oil in the plenum around the mounting bolts. I'm not talking just an oil film but actual puddles of oil.

Has anybody else had this problem? I'm hoping that it's due to a bad PVC valve. Any other ideas?

For a visual, this is a picture borrowed from NiteQwill's DIY. The puddles of oil were in this area at the base of the bolts.

That's totally fine. It's just the collection of oil from the PCV valve like you said. It is not broken.

I was going to ask this as well. I had the same thing in my IM when I pulled it. I suspected it was normal.

Thanks guys. That's what I figured. Probably going to drop in a fresh PVC valve just for yucks.

Wonder if a wad of oil could make it to the cylinders if you parked on a steep incline

Only if you parked on a hill where your parking brake doesn't do it's job. Then you wouldn't worry about oil in your cyclinders, would you?

Sorry, being a smart-ass.....
