My Honda advisor said do wahtever else you want to the car but always use a Honda OEM filter. I trust him so I follow his advice.

"YIKES" read links here before making that statement, there is a lot of differents between filters. If you change every 3k miles the lower build quality will work just fine. But if you want the "BEST" that is a completely diff story.

read up here and do more research, you'll be surprised how diff filters are; and in some cases cost doesn't have anything to do with it.

I found some aftermarket don't fit the housing properly and either leak or screw up threads regardless of their life and endurance expectancies...my

I was right!!!
The K&N HP-1004 is a great filter. The internal construction is the same as the Mobil 1 filter, but it does not filter the down to as small a particle size. This filter is meant to maintain higher flow while still actively filtering, as opposed to by-passing. Lab tests using Mobil 1 at 7500 miles indicates that this filter works as well as the AMSOIL SDF-20:
