Oil Changes at Honda Dealership

An oil change at my Acura dealer is $35. I call the honda dealership and it was only $24 incl tax.

As far as I know, Acura and Honda oil and filters are the same...

Why the price difference? and Do you guys go to Honda dealerships for your oil changes, What do you think?

I go to my backyard for my oil changes, but if you can't then a Honda dealer will do the same job, same quality work most likely. It's not that hard for an oil change and most places do them right, unless you're talking about the wonderful express lube places that can mess things up.

Could be different oil. The Acura house nearby uses a synthetic blend, the Honda place uses dead dinos.

Nothing wrong with Honda doing it. I hated when any of them washed my car anyway (had a black one that only saw Zaino).

Rumor Control...

I once heard from someone that the oil filters on Honda/Acura was in such a hard-to-get-to spot that some quick lube places would just say they changed it when they really didn't...

Has anyone else ever heard this?... Could this be true?

The oil filter can almost be removed w/o jacking up the car from underneath. I think there is a way to get to it from the wheel well if you take off the black plastic under it.
