Well it looks like the rust monster has started to attack my car, rear wheel wells and the lip where the rear bumper meets the car........

what should I do?

1. fix it with abody shop?

or

apply some form of rust stopper?

 

strip it to bare metal, spray some of that rust sealer stuff, and repaint that area

 

whatever you do, do it quick, and do it right, so it doesnt come back!

 

being from the coast rust stopper will only slow it. the only way to "cure" it is to grind it down and remove the rust. do it right and do it once.

got the estimate today and it is 1,700 to fix that and the following

hoodchips
a few other chips

It seems a little steep but I'll see if they can give a slight discount................

the car was built 11-XX-01 and has 81K on it..........car is run over with a clay bar once a year and waxed every month during the summer and 7 coats of wax for the winter

 

When does the rust warranty run out?

 

1700 to fix the problems is a rip off. small chips u can do yourself with a filler primes, sand paper, paint, clear. a couple bux for that kit and your good. go to several shop, always shop around

 

rust warranty is for total rust through and is for 5 yrs unlimited miles.

$1700 covers the hood and both rear quarters along with a couple of chips on the front fenders


the labor comes from removing and replacing the rear wind
