OEM brake pad part #?

Anyone have the part # for the OEM pads? I recall awhile back a lot of regulars here said the OEM ceramics were good but the metal ones were garbage (unless I need a refresher ) I've looked around online and I can't find any listings that actually say wtf the pad material is for the part #. Obviously I'm looking for the ceramics

Help?

of course if the consensus now is that OEM is garbage and aftermarket is worth it (steering wheel shakes when braking hard at high speeds so new rotors.. ) then I guess I'll go the aftermarket route. I just want something durable for daily driver mode

Also since all 4 wheels would need new pads I figured I would do them all simultaneously. Would it be smart to replace all 4 rotors at the same time as well, or just the front two?

Not sure if OEM was ever 'ceramic'. I remember them as 'composite'.

I removed my OEM's as soon as I could find Hawk HPS street (HB366F.681; front-HB145F.570; rear) 'equivalent' composites, years ago.
Have them to this day with no problems.

Hawk does make a 'ceramic' (HB366Z.681; front-HB145Z.570; rear) for the CL-S. Never tried them, so

You could always 'cut' the old rotors, if you don't want to spend the $$ for new. Or Just get new for front and 'cut' the rears, since they don't have as much braking demand when you brake.

Front OEM's are on the link below, though, I doubt they are ceramic at that price. Use the same site to find the rears:

Really? I coulda sworn I saw a thread here awhile back with a few people saying there were 2 options: ceramic and metallic. Stay away from the metallic, was the consensus. I guess I will have to go aftermarket, then. Nothing wrong with composites but I'm done using this car for anything other than daily driver mode

^Oddly enough the part # for that rear pad is coming up on a few different sites, some say it fits the CL, others say it doesn't. Weird.

Also does anyone know if the CL's real caliper piston needs to be rotated as it gets pushed in? The only DIYs I've read here are for fronts

:
Hey stupid question but I gotta ask, are you sure on those part numbers? I look up on ebay, Amazon, etc and they all say it does fit the CL, but hawk's website says it doesn't Found a place where these are on sale but probably won't get around to installing them for a little while. Would hate to buy, have them not fit then can't return them. Specifically the HB145F.570

I found the provided Hawk HPS composite brake pad info. on tirerack.com for an 03 CL-S:

HB366F.681; front; $72.00; per axle set(free shipping); Instock

What's probably hanging you up on the rear Part #'s is highlighted in bold below:

HB145F.570; rear; $54.00; per axle set(free shipping); Instock
Note: Rear brake pads. For S models and models with drum style parking brake.

https://www.tirerack.com/brakes/resu...03&autoModClar=

According to the acuraoemparts.com website:
If you have a six speed CL-S, there's a drum style parking brake and 'console' lever assembly.
If you have an automatic CL-S, there's a drum style parking brake and 'foot operated' lever assembly.
If you have an automatic CL-P, there's a drum style parking brake and 'foot operated' lever assembly.

Therefore, HB145F.570; rear; should be the one to use.

Please double check my analysis yourself at acuraoemparts.com.

As far as I know and can observe from acuraoemparts.com website, there was NEVER a rear 'intergrate parking brake' on the 2G CL's.
Why HB572F.570; rear, below, is included and labeled as such, on tirerack.com, is beyond me.

That may explain the part # differences you are running into when you search.

HB572F.570; rear; $64.00; per axle set(free shipping); Instock
Note: Rear brake pads. For models with intergrate parking brake.

Wow! Holy crap dude, thanks for going above and beyond! It does sound like that's what was tripping me up. Mainly I was looking on Hawk's website and they didn't have that part # listed as compatible for the CL but it did list HB572F.570 as the correct part. I'm sure it's because they were not taking the different brakes into consideration. Honestly, who knows... I'll go ahead and follow your lead though. Thanks!

lmao just wanted to give an update, but I got the pads installed Not bad for my first time doing pad replacement -- no squeals or nothing!. I was all set to replace the rotors as well, but holy fcking BALLS those screws are rusted in something serious. I broke all my bits, ended up getting one of them off with a hammer + chisel (no joke) Didn't even get to replace the rotors -- replaced the screws, though. Only got one set of screws off -- so I'll have to buy new tools and give it another shot On the bright side the new pads feel like a dream! Hell I barely feel the wobble from the warped rotors Barely had to do anything to break them in, either
