I noticed a peculiar thing this morning when I started my car. Right after I started it, the engine RPMs settled to right around 1k which I thought was a little high for idle. Well as I sat there for a minute waiting for everything to warm up, the needle eventually dipped down to what I would call a normal idle RPM speed @ ~700 or so.

I went out to my car this afternoon and it did the same thing, so it's consistant. The climate control was off both times so that isn't it.

Is this normal, or do you think something is screwed up here?

 

that's normal, t's just how the car warms up.
