Occasional stall problem

Hi everyone! I'm new to the board, so please be gentle if my question has been answered previously.

I have a 2001 CL-S, and every once in a while, when I'm in stop-and-go traffic or stopped at a stop light, my car will stall. It usually only happens on the first drive of the morning, and seems to only happen when the temperature outside is greater than 50 degrees. The last couple of days when it was really cold out, I had no trouble at all. This morning, it almost stalled but didn't. Any ideas what it might be? I had it at the dealer, but of course, it was cold out, and they could not replicate the problem.

Any thoughts? Thanks...

Bad gas or water in the gas. Try a bottle of dry gas.

on the throttle body.... wax is covering the screw....

need to disconnect the battery to reset the ECU.... should turn it 1/2 turn at a time. counter-clockwise.... Most of the guys running FI need to adjust this screw...

but if your car is still covered under warranty, take it in to the dealership... might be more than an adjustment...(i.e. replacement)

Where's this screw and why do the FI guys need to adjust it?

Scalbert and I both had an idle problem... the car would stall at a stop sign..with the blower installed and at idle the car was not getting enough air.

when you adjust the screw, you are letting more air in while at idle.

the screw is on the throttle body.

sorry i do not have a picture.

Hmm, before my car goes into open loop, right after start up, the engine sort of lopes up and down. Maybe I need to open the screw out?

correct, i was seeing open loop when the car was cold... then i noticed it doing it after it was warm... then it starting stalling while driving... so I removed the wax, disconnected the battery and made 1/2 turn at a time counterclock wise... = 1 complete turn...

reconnected the battery.. the car looped once, found the idle postion and has not missed a beat since.

Is this screw located inside the TB or accessible from the outside? I don't see it. The symptoms Chemmech just described is similar to what I've been experiencing since the blower install. Only happens when first starting the car when the engine is cold.
