OBX vs Stone headers

I know people talked about this already, but I'd appreciate your input. So, how much installed and which one to get?

I think the install for headers are around 100 and I would get stone headers cause I hear they are better quality than the obx ones.

Personally, I ordered the Stone headers. For a little bit more than the OBX ones, it gave me peace of mind knowing that it would be fitted properly, port matched, and the reviews so far have said there is little to no resonance sound.

Yeah -- but you can't purchase stone headers anymore ... Group buy is over, right? Or is there a way to get them still???

I think the main difference is that Stone headers might fit better (we had to do some drilling to make the OBXs fit on my car) and the resonance. Quality, no one knows for sure....and I mean durability.

My Stone install was certainly easier than the OBX install for blackmagiCL_S and ferizzo. However, there is a resonance for me at 2,000 and 3,000. Please be aware that, FOR ME, these are not silent. That said, the resonance is not as loud as blackmagiCL_S' resonance (according to him).

Andy is a liar! j/k

Bull, next time we get together we'll take turns in both cars to compare the resonance in each. Maybe if we go to the track in three weeks we can line up against each other (eventhough you have a weight and intake advantage)!

Hahaha!!

Yeah, we can try to line up against each other. I'll tell the cat in the staging lanes to line us up...he'll hook it up. If Nashua goes, I'll go against him. Bring Ray...I'll run him, too.

Pete,

I hate the fact, the Gary messed up your Catalic Converter Gasket AND he resued it!! It could be the cause of the added noise!

Could be...who knows. Whatever the cause, there is a noise, and it's a little annoying at times.

Bull,

I want to line Ray up as well before he gets the car tuned! His car is just a tad slower than yours right now (he ran a 14.6 to your 14.4) and he has a boost leak and a slipping clutch! I'm scurred because once he gets the leak fixed he should be in the mid to high 13s on pump gas! He just added an intake and the car sounds awesome! I told him to get a BOV but he said the bypass valves are cheaper, not to mention BOVs don't really add anything power-wise. That would be sweet though!

Yeah, I definitely want to run Ray BEFORE he gets his car tuned...I'm tired of gettin' spanked by Audis.

BOV sounds so nice, though.

Hey, what the hell is this Andy is a liar crap!?!?!?

The OBX were easy to install on my car, took about an hour. There was a little drilling for one of the bolts but it went quickly. Since they came off a CL (Nashua's) and went on mine and there was still a bit of a fit problem I was a tad suprised. You would think that if they lined up on NAshua's they should on mine too.

I guess maybe there are bound to be slight fitment issues no matter which headers you get.
