There are at least 3 types for the mufflers, you pick what you like.

I'm not sure about these things. We already know that OBX copies existing designs, but does not use the same quality as the item they copied (headers). The headers were a different story though b/c many of us paid $340 vs. the $1000 for the Comptech. With exhausts there are already low cost products out there from companies with better reps such as HKS. Do we know what kind of metal they're using on these exhaust systems? How do they compare to the other companies?

Headers are one thing b/c they're kind of protected... but exhausts take constant abuse from the elements....

does this set-up offer any performance gains??? also, how loud is this set up going to be?? the exhaust resonator is gone on that setup and those mufflers are probably loud as it is....so i wanna know what that sounds like, the LAST thing i would want is my CL-S sounding like the RICEBOYS that i despise!!!!

1) HP Gains.. No clue yet. A Dyno will tell.
2) I do not like ricey preb-preb sound too.. If it is ricey... I do not want it on my CLS.... if it 's like CT quiet at low rpms and throaty at higher rpms, then yeah.... me like o....

I don't see why everybody is hating???? They look just like the hks supper draggers. I took some member photos of their cars with HKS super draggers. You can see they don't look that bad.

Comptech exhaust are small and I heard they are actually louder than the HKS. Now if OBX copied HKS exact design and there is NO RICEY noise then Nashua I want to order now!

I wouldn't say they look like the dragers. the tips of them flange out much larger than the HKS'.

Also, I'm not feeling the three options of tip types either.

DTM??? no way...

Type Hiroshima??? not on my ride...

Type R??? Rice rice baby!

Nashua - What are the sizes of the OBX tips and compared to the tips sizes of the HKS. From the first page of this thread, the honda accord side profile of the OBXs don't stick out at all.

no clue about the tips length... the first picture is most indicative of its length... 3"-4" maybe

These tips look to be about 4". If they made a tip the 2.5-3" i think they would get a lot more sales. I would even consider it.

I like the side profile of the obx exhaust on that accord! Thanks for doing all the research on this Nashua. If you can find an alternative to the HKS draggers... that resemble their appearance and is full cat back at the fraction of the cost... you can count me in!

As for quality... it looks as though they use T304 stainless steel throughout? That should withstand any elemental wear ... with the exception of bottoming out or backing up into a curb (which I've seen happen before, and is not a good thing *not to myself fortunately*)

BTW- I'm assuming that the pics shown are of the "H" design? The canister exhaust resembles the greddy Evo more IMO.

Don't forget those pics are on an Accord... it *may* look a little better on a CL. Guess we won't know until Nashua gets them :P

The reason I got the CompTechs are:

1) Minimal droning, very deep tone, can't hear over my intake at WOT.
2) Smallest tips available @ 3.5"
3) They actually LOOK like a muffler! (MOST mufflers are oval shaped, NOT round like a sausage.)

Honestly I wouldn't mind if the CompTech tips were 3" instead of 3.5".

I definitely prefer the HKS Draggers, Greddy MX and Tanabe Hyper Medalion style mufflers over the OBX.

Just my opinion though.

I thought on the CL-S, there's no perforamnce gained from adding an exhaust system. Is this the case? Is it just for looks, & sound then?

Nashua - I did a purchase order for the exhaust and it comes to 358.00 tax & shipping included. How much of a discount will be off of that total price on the groupbuy if this ever happens?

I do not know for sure... no GB has been fixed.. but I think it should be less than $300 shipped....

Did you really order one?

If so congrats... keep us updated as you may be the first to have it on a CLS.

if you can get them both for under 300 i am in; cheaper the price the better. Great investment for my CL-P

But I really think the pipe tips look to big.
I want to keep it looking smooth and classy then ricy.

No I did not buy one. I went through the normal process and check for shipping rates and everything then canceled. I am not dishing out any money until I get clearification on those exhuast. I still want to know if the hks tips are smaller or the same size as the Obx. I also need to know about the noise. I hate fart can sounds. If things go well I might order them.

Hey nashua, why not try to get us a group buy on the hks for like 3 something or 4 exact. Seems like everyone is skeptical about the obx exhaust.

for $300 u get what u pay for. the exhaust and the piping looks like it fits fine but the piping looks kinda small.

although the Greddy Evo with Dual option is about 800 bucks it i think it looks and sounds and aslo ill bet performs better than the obx. i might be a little biased but ive only purchased 1 catback exhaust in my life and they were Greddy. ive heard other exhausts and nothing comes close to what greddy has to offer.

I don't know. There is something about an engine bolt on that has the designation/style of: "TYPE HIROSHIMA".

Do you nuke someone behind you or lay waste to the car?

I think I would be offended if I was Japanese but that is pretty damn funny to name it type H - Hiroshima!! LOL wtf were they thinking?

Seems like all of us just want to know there it is on the rice factor:
