OBDII Code P1259

this code just fired on my moms accord, and it relates to a Vtec problem...anyone know anything more specific?

This is out of the 1998-2001 Accord V6 Service Manual:

DTC P1259: A problem in the VTEC Oil Pressure Switch circuit or VTEC Solenoid Valve circuit.

It's about a 4 page troubleshooting procedure.

Could a rear end accident (a pretty good jolt) cause this?

Not really sure. Could be 1) VTEC oil pressure switch, 2) PCM, 3) VTEC Solenoid Valve, 4) Loose or broken wire or connector in the circuit.

The troubleshooting procedure is up to 27 steps. Some cannot be done without special tools.

May best be done by a dealer.

id bet that the car doesnt engage vtec anymore cause of it. get it to a dealer as this a rarer problem and harder to find the route of the problem.
