NSX ECU swap?????

can anyone think of a reason that an auto NSX ecu swap couldnt be done? it's a 6 cylinder, auto trans,i realize that it's DOHC but i dont think that would be an issue? the auto trans is a sequential 4 speed so...not sure on that?

there would be a higher redline,i would think more aggressive fuel maps and timing, and i would also think more aggressive shifting.

i think you'll run into problems w/ the dohc and the vtec cause I believe the vtec in the j series motors is pretty different then the one in the nsx. I know the 3.0 vtec is pretty unique (don't know if you guys have it the same way).

You'd be better off picking up the AEM EMS and doing some REAL tuning!

just talked with AEM and they have no compatible unit...yet! we talked about the possibility of an accord 6mt unit working if they develop one for that...still leaves the auto transmission problem there

I thought all OBD-II computers had to be flashable. Isn't that one of the criterias with the OBD-II spec?

I know the OBD-I is just a prom, but I though -II required flash upgrades.

it is compatible, but you have to do all the programming from scratch.

which would require someone who knows what they're doing, and some serious dyno/scan time.

personally if I was looking into a ECU i'd go with a AEM EMS for the simple reason unless you got A LOT of time and money to get the NSX ECU programmed. I haven't read of anyone with a CL running a AEM EMS ECU but the other ones were crap they pretty much just maintained the amount of stock HP. if I'm gonna pay 200-300 bucks for a ECU i want some more power
