NOVA 30k Service PRICE RAPE RAPE !!!

okay I just called 3 dealers around here for my 30k service
Pohanka : 385
Radley in woodbridge: 450
Radley in alexandria : 435

WTF!!!

so I ask them to break it down

1 tranny flush = 60 bucks
if I want the extensive flush 150

Oil change 20 bucks, even if I bring my own mobil1

rotate tires 20 bucks

AC filters 10 bucks

visual inspection : the rest.

AHHHHHHHHHH okay so I decided to take it to my mechanic instead.

But question, should i do 1 flush for the tranny or an extensive flush and just change out the entire tranny oil for 30k?

I think the owners manual states to change the tranny fluid (not flush) at 30k. That would be the $60. Not all of the fluid is removed.

The 'extensive flush' would replace all of the fluid.

I plan on following the manual. If the dealer inspects the tranny fluid and says your car 'needs' the extensive flush, that should be covered under the warranty. You are only responsible for the routine maintenance stated in the book.

(NOVA, do you have a car cover? I thought I read in a thread you have one, what brand, price?, if not just ignore this)

I just have the OEM acura cover.

Not the best esp in rain but, it got an Acura logo on it. hehe
I usually use it in spring when theres pollon outside and in fall where leaves and other crap fall on my car.

I've just decided to break down the servcie
60 tranny flush
20 oil change
20 rotate tires
10 change A/C filter
Inspect warrped rotors (warranty)

Grand total : 110 vs 450 whoo hoo.

I think flushing the tranny is a 60k maintenance must.

I did the 30k maintenance - oil change, tranny fluid drain and fill,
radiator flush(can wait till 60k), tire rotation for $150 @ Jiffy Lube You can change the air filter yourself, as for the a/c filter I'm not familiar with it or it's whereabouts.

Does anyone know the whereabout or recomended change of the a/c filters?

I am due for my 30k mile checkup. Can you let your mechanic do it and leave Acura out of it? I know acura will charge an arm and a leg. How much did your mechanic do it for nova?

do u have the extended warranty??

i know it stipulates that you have to take the car in for regular service like the 30k maintaince check up

if you dont they could possibly void your warranty

i think the best thing to do is just take it in for service and have them do the stuff that cost the most

tell them u dont want an oil change -20 tire rotation -10 ac filter -10 and misc. -50 to -100 dollars

just have them do the minimum

I was told by the Acura salesman that you can get service anywhere. I would keep the reciepts though.

For mine, I just got an oil change, tires rotated, and tranny fluid change.

Thats it.

If something goes wrong with the car its covered under warranty anyways, so its acuras' problem, not yours.
