Not a kill, but a good run against a Altima 3.5

I was cruising around 495 here in DC heading towards 270 when I ran up on a White Altima 3.5 with dual exhaust and smoked windows. Well, I kinda shot past him around 70mph, and when he noticed me and followed me until I hit the off ramp to 270, then we got neck and neck. He punched it, so I already had dropped her into 3rd gear, I followed. He hit the gaps and could handle the car real good, but he never shook me of his bumper. Once we hit a little open patch a few miles up the road, I pulled on him to his front door, by this time I had to shift into 4th because we had hit 110mph. He still never shook me of his ass, and it felt great!!! After I dropped over 3 lanes to catch my exit, he threw up the peace sign and broke off into the distance.

I know he had an automatic since I was on his tail, if he had a stick, I'd be surprised that he couldn't drive that car. I know the 6 speeds have nice 1/4 mile times, but what about the autos? Anybody have any idea what they do in the 1/4?

My car has a few mods, but not enough to be hanging with a mid 14 sec car. But all in all, it was a good display on 270 and a clean race in the middle of the day.

w/ the mods you have it could have been a 5 speed. You didn't race off the line just on the highway.

Good run. Those 3.5's can be pretty quick in Auto or 5 speed.

Very interesting...

I've wondering about the 3.5 Nissans... After all, they do share the same basic power plant as their big brother 350Z.

TypeR, what do you think you would do againt them?

TypeR would probably beat an altima pretty badly! Even a lightly modded one. I think people have seen 1 or 2 hit high thirteens with a few mods.

Obviously a well modded one would be a nice race with typeR
