Noob question about the tb spacers, gaskets

I gotta ask, but about those TB Spacers and IM gaskets (on Excelerate) I heard that those give you a slight boost in HP, but is that only noticeable when the car is really getting heated? Like, does it protect against heatsoak moreso than improve HP or anything?

So I guess what I'm trying to ask is will I really only notice a change in performance if I've been cruising around with the engine at normal operating temp, or is it kind of all across the board? I know you're supposed to get 4-5 HP increase, but is it only noticeable when the engine is fully warmed up?

you will not "notice" the power gains from the tb spacer. I have it, it's more for looks and piece of mind (that u got lot of mods). Does it help heat soak, definitely (how much i dunno).

I would do the P2R thermoblock manifold gasket when/if you do the tb spacer.

a cooler intake manifold and tb will give more gain. cooler air=more power. its great for like highway runs, 1/4 mile, road racing. also do the tb coolant bypass that will help more then the spacer and its FREE

u got to stop talking about ur previous car. it was a pos. end of story

i have had the coolant bypass on my tl for 3 years now and no problem, i have it bypassed on my cl for almost a year and all is good. members here have had it bypassed for longer and no problems all it does is heats up the tb which will heat up the incoming air so the engine can warm up faster in cold climates. THATS all nothing to do with IDLE

i did coolant bypass too its been a year and had no problems and felt it pulled a lil harder at the very higher rpms i still have it done right now too during winter because our winters over here the temp doesnt go below 10 degrees celsius always raining

useless mod. look at the physics. heat rises as it radiates from the engine block. it gets trapped in the pockets of the hood and warms up the intake manifold. most of the heat comes from the headers and not from the block to the manifold. nobody has proven the gains and 4-5hp can be created by having multiple dynos back to back.

^^^ that's my philosophy.

for how hot it get in comparison to everything else, i'd rather just let the car function the way it was intended to.

My CAI and manifold are so damn cool anyways I don't think a lil heat in a 2inch tb would soak the air enough to make a diff.

in the US on hot hot days... then i could see it making some difference, but for the times it'd do good, it'd just cause my car to idle high for longer most of the time.

Maybe it was a placebo effect, but I noticed a difference after I bypassed the coolant lines in the TB. Then again, my car is super inconsistent so maybe it was just running good that day.
