Noise help!! - '01 CL-P Auto
Hoping someone can help identify two diff noises I'm having...
To be fully transparent, I know almost nothing about cars.
Hoping to identify the issues so I'll have a better understanding of how to go about getting them fixed.

Purchased from CarMax in 2007 with 75k miles and now has 233k miles and surprisingly hasn't blown up on me cuz I def don't treat her very nice.
While the car isn't worth much and the repairs prob won't make fiscal sense, I'd still like to drive it to 300k (potentially) before getting something 10-15 years newer.

My engine is making a whirring/growling/grinding noise but is only quick 1-2 second bursts of noise. It only happens a couple times when driving and doesn't seem to make a diff if the engine is cold or hot. I have noticed it seems to happen more when not on flat terrain, though I'm in FL so it's never anything steep. Any ideas?

I recently had the pressurized power steering line replaced. (Think that's what it's called.) The original had dry rotted and fluid was seeping through the cracked hose, then eventually started to burn white smoke as the fluid would land on diff parts inside the engine bay. For a while I could go 7-10 days and then would have to refill the ps fluid, but then it got so bad I needed to do it daily. When the fluid was empty the car would make a whooshing/whirring/whining sound when turning and seemed to be kind of mirroring the revs of the engine. (Almost sounds like a wind up toy car or r/c car?) When the ps fluid tank was full the sound instantly went away until the fluid had eventually leaked out again. Now after the line has been replaced even though the fluid is full it's making that same sound and gets louder or softer as it rev matches the engine. Any ideas?

The transmission is DEF messed up. Already had it rebuilt a couple years ago and it's bad again. The car shakes/shutters from 2nd-3rd and again from 3rd to 4th about 70% of the time I'm driving. So far the trans hasn't fully died on me yet though I know it's coming within the next couple months I'm sure.
