Noise from front passenger side wheel
Noise from front passenger side wheel
I am hearing a clunking type noise when i go over bumps on the road. It is more noticeable when I am driving on local roads at low speeds. It sounds like the wheel has a lot of play. I had it checked out at the place that did my tokicos and comptech springs and they say everything looks good. Any ideas on what this noise could be ? Also if I take it to the dealer will they cover something like a stabilizer link or cv joint under warranty or would they blame that on the comptech springs? I am not sure if supension parts are covered under the 50k warranty.
Thanks

Were your tokicos and springs installed recently?
A friend of mine in a mustang has the same problem your describing. Tried spacers, tried tightening, tried bump steer kit. Ended up the place that installed his strut overtightened the cylinder (the middle bolt in the center in the engine bay strut mount) and it spun the cylinder and broke the seal and let all the gas out. Guess what? Useless strut.
Dunno if that helped at all, good luck.

The noise you're describing is usually a sign of a blown strut. The way to tell is to take off your wheel and see if there is liquid/gas on your strut. Then you will know if it was blown.
I am having it looked at on Monday. I do think the shock is probably blown. I have only had it for ~6k, not sure what would have caused it to malfunction. The same wheels bump stopper is completely torn too.
I know that Tokicos have a limited lifetime warranty but I am not sure how it works when I bought them online through some dealer on ebay.
