No props to SAABs?

I've noticed on this forum that nobody has ever posted about racing a SAAB. Mostly BMW, MB, Nissan, etc. Why is that? Do SAABs (or SAAB drivers)

a)not get any consideration when it comes to speed?

b)never seem to want to race?

c)not worth it, why bother.

d)what's a SAAB?

Case in point, I was stopped at a light next to a red CL (don't know if it was "s" type or not) and I was sure he would peel off. He didn't, just casually drove off. Based on what I've been reading here, I could have sworn that a race would insue.

I feel slighted.

Isn't that what girls do when you tell them something really sad?

I see SAAB's all the time, I just don't see anyone willing to race in a SAAB.

I don't run into too many sobs I mean Saabs.. let alone ones that wanna race.. the Viggen is four doors right?.. They are pretty fast too.. in MT saw that 0-60 mph was 6.52 and 1/4 mile was 15.1 secs.. I guess people know very little about Saabs.. but that one seems pretty fast.

Everyone I see driving a SAAB 9-3 Viggen never wants to race.

As for the other SAABs... forget about it.

Every SAAB owners is either a Doctor, Pharmacist, or a Veterinarian.

Good luck findin many of those folks that will race ya

The SAABs are really kick ass up in the mountains with the boost (same can be said for the Audi's with boost).

Above about 6,000 feet, regularly aspirated engines start to feel pretty weak, especially in hot weather. So, don't try to race one around Lake Tahoe (or the Himalayas).

I had a friend who had one, and he raced the sh*t out of it. It is hard to know who drives them. BTW -- It did fall apart (he did drive it hard).

Just another Sob (SAAB) story...

I do think some of the new saabs can be made to look really nice. However, odds are a Saab will breakdown before the race ever begins so that might be why no one wants to race them (Send Another Automobile Back).

Plus, on the Viggen topic--I think alot of people bought the Viggen b/c with the incentives they were selling for as little as the lesser models. Probably didn't know what they were gettting themselves into. Personally, I think the Viggen is a pretty badass looking car (and good performance)--but I've heard alot of bad things about its torque steer and handling among many other things.

No other Saab is really worth racing.

Don't know where you got the info, but as far as I know, most SAABs last years. As for breaking down before a race begins, I don't think so. While your spinning your wheels on the line, I'm two car lengths ahead!

I traded in a '99 Saab Viggen for my '01 CL-S, and have owned 5 Saabs in my life. The Viggen was a blast to drive. It had lots of personality and character, unique styling, and was even very practical (huge hatchback area). I loved driving the car - just not owning it. Like Jens said, Saabs are unbelievable rattle traps - after just 8,000 mi, it felt like a tired Chrysler K-car. They're also not very reliable - I had a '95 900SE Turbo for 5 years, and I couldn't go a month without having to go back to the dealer for repairs. It's too bad - they're fun and interesting cars otherwise...

I can't remember the last time I saw a man driving a Saab. Around here they are all chicks. They are way too busy yacking on the cell phone to race.

Saabs are totally priced out of this segment. By and large I only see early-40's people driving them.

I like SAABs. They are unique cars. What kind of mods can you do to a SAAB. Im pretty sure you can get a boost controller for it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, which I may very well be, but don't Saabs have overboosted motors running FWD!?! Hmmm....if anyone is spinning out....I think it's your Saab. Nice cars. Gotta change the turbo for potential...already maxed out at 22psi on a 9-3 Viggen.
