Well i had my car at my Acura Dealer yesterday and we got to talking. As i'm sure alot of you know,i was told Acura will not be coming out with a new CL or anything that looks like it. The only 2 door car will be the RSX and he said it will be like that for a long time. He sited poor sales for the 01 -03 CL as the main reason. WHAT A SHAME !!!!!!!

I guess this means that he rarely has to take his CL to the dealer for repairs, if he thinks this is news. Did you know they made a more fun 6 speed in 03? That there has been major problems with the automatic transmissions and you're tran warranty has been extended to 100k miles.
And that dealers rarely know anything about the future?
Sorry, feeling bitchy today I guess and mad too that Acura screwed up on a great car.

 

sorry if i was looking for a updated opinion on the future of the cl, i find that opinions or inside perspective can change from one year to another.You know that while time passes things to change.

Rumors are that the new TL based Acura coupe will move upscale to about $40k and be out in 2 years or so. Probably have some of the goodies the new RL has. As of a few weeks ago, the new NSX has been dropped so this new coupe may try to fulfill some of the NSX and CL markets?

Well, when the 2005 RL was unveiled with 300HP STD, I figured the Coupe would need to have a little “extra”.
The Hybrid is probably a pipe-dream, but I hope the rest comes true.

And the current rumors are a Coupe based on the TL. I’d rather see a Japan built RL take that spot.
