No more Bowling ball trim!!! Pics!

So I spent my spring break..among other things doing the 2003 CL-S Silver trim mod. These are all removed and painted by me. I figured a body shop would paint it better but I just think time spent doing it yourself on the car is far more priceless then just bringing it somewhere and getting it done.

I'll post the HOW-To's in a few days with pics of what to do. On difficulty from 1-10..I'd say 6. Compared to clearing the headlights i'd judge headlights at 5. It was definitely worth it. Makes the car look a lot sleeker IMO. I'll let the pics speak for themselves.

It's definitely a doable job. Just a bit time consuming. For everything to dry and put it all back took about 3 days. But thats just me because I put a lot of clear coat and a lot of layers of paint, wetsanding, paint again.

First pic. Excuse the plexiglass cover for the head unit. I'm stil ltrying to figure out what to do with it.

Damn sorry to hear that. I'm actually trying to sell the headunit because I need the money real bad. But I'm trying to have that as the last to go if I need to sell everything off the car.

So what you did was take the origonal black wood trim and just paint over it with silver, or you completly took out the black wood and put in the actual 03 sliver trim piece?

Very nice. I may consider it also. How easy will it scatch through to the black? That would be my only concern.

Thanks fellas. I'll post the how to's with pics within the week. Like i said..its fairly easy. You can't replace them with the 03's trims because you'd have to buy the WHOLE panel not just the trim piece and that equals $$$$. I tried to purposely scratch it with my fingers and seems all good. I'm sure if I took a screwdriver to it, it would scratch off. But I've been watching my movements in and out of the car as well as the passengers and rear seats and its really hard to stab at those pieces.
