If the actuator helps/hurts us so much, would it be better if we just kept it open at all times? Everyone says that when it goes out, it kills the performance. Why not just leave it open?

 

I believe there was a discussion on this a while back, and if I recalled correctly, you would actually lose more HP/Torque on the lower RPM. Scalbert should be able to give you more insight into this.
