Night @ the track last night....
Yup, my 1st time being at the track was last night (#97!! ooooh yeah baby!) There were some AWESOME cars there. Those little Civic Hatchbacks can fly!!! Well anyway, last night, i relized that my car isnt all that fast...Running low 17's and one 16.9 is horrible!! Its most likely my 18inch chrome wheels, so next thursday, i will be running with my stocks back on, and if i dont get the results i want, im trading my car for an M3. Yup, i most likely will anyway, but, next thursday night decides wether or not i do. 17's.... Cmon! i should be running what..14.5's 14.6's with my CAI alone? Ill post time slips if you all do not believe me. Im at school right now, so when i get to my friends house, ill scan them, and prove it to you all, because i think some of you had some doubt about my friends 330i beat me like 10 times, So.. we'll see.

Is this your first time? 17 secs? Really? Wow, I'd have to see some time slips to figure out what you're doing. Maybe YOUR actuator is not working!

Must be your actuator. I have 18inch chrome wheels as well, and i never ran times that terrible.

This is the same kid that got whupped when racing his friend in the 330ci. I think if you insist on racing with 100lb ea., 18" rims, you're going to lose all of the time and post 17 sec 1/4 mile times all of the time.

Something is seriously wrong with his car... I accidently ran the 1/4 mile starting from 2nd gear (when I launched, I accidently bumped the shifter from 1 to 2nd) and still ran a 16.8.
Did you ran at a track that is 4,000 feet above sea level or something? Did you have 50lb bags of cement in your trunk? I mean its almost impossible to run 17 second 1/4 mile in a CL-S under "normal" circumstances.
There has to be something you aren't telling us or you need to get your car checked ASAP.

Hey no need to prove how SLOW you went, anyone can do that. Check your actuator and get rid of those wheels, your car must be the slowest CL-S I've ever read about!

I think he needs to be "taken care of." --> for the goodness of the Type S community of course. Those timeslips must be burned ... BURNED!

Suzuka Master
I did a calc with NHRA calculator and here is the weight and HP figures it came up with to get a 16.67:
4700 lbs
200 HP
So, if I figure I have lost the equivalent of 300lbs of "static" weight with the 50lbs I lost with the Toyo and SSR wheel/tire combo, I am wondering if you have (by converse calculations) gained the equivalent of 1000 lbs static weight ~= 150 additional lbs of wheel weight.
Do you know if your tire and wheel combo weighs about 80lb each (30lbs more per wheel)
The other alternative is:
4000 lbs
170 hp
Meaning you wheels are only about 10lbs more per wheel, and your engine is weak, and your IMRC is not working -- and that was a 16.67!
BTW -- using the stock front wheel HP 208 and 3700 lbs (car with driver), I get a time of 15.19 in the 1/4 mile
1. Remove the wheels ASAP
2. Have the car dyno'd with the stock wheels on!
3. Have the actuator check ASAP
Ouch -- you need a rocket motor to fix the current setup.
