I was wondering if any one knows when the next navi update would be coming out?I don't know if I should wait or just go out and buy the 2.03 version.Thanks for the info

it's coming out very soon.. but i was told by my sales person when i was buying the car, that i would get FREE updates for the next like 10 years! NOW they have change it. they will sell it for like $150. i'm fucking pissed because i was told BEFORE i bought the car that it would be free. so i'm going to make a major bitch issue with customer service about this. i better get my fucking CD AS PROMISED when i bought the car!

never heard of free updates for 10 years ??????????????, you should have got it in writing from the salesperson,

"we trust in god, all others. document"

 

That's a first - I think most most people who ask are told only the next two updates were free.
(Which is also a total lie)

 

I think all the confusion at the dealerships started when Acura moved from a hard drive based system to DVD media. They used to swap out the hard drive (free) for a new one with whenever the database was upgraded. I guess they forgot to tell the dealers who continue to quote the old policy.

 

If you want the new navi update go here http://www.acura.com/myacura/mya_index.asp and you can get the 2.04 version made 5/2001 for 152 dollars. And you can check out the coverage area's and what they have updated compared to the old one. Hope this helps

 

Just wait a month or two & the new one should be out.I plan to purchase one then also since I have the original DVD disc.
I forget what version but its the oldest I purchased my 2000 TL 12/99. I don't know how much of an iprovement it will be to some of you.It sure will be a big iprovement to me & I hope the cost is about the same.

 

I got on the Acura website today and ordered the Navi DVD -- vol. 2.04 (May, 2001) using their on-line system. It was really weird though. After I completed the transaction, my sales "confirmation" showed that I had ordered vol. 2.03!!! There must be some kind of a bug in their order entry system. doh! I sent them an e-MAIL and I'm waiting to see how quickly they can straighten this one out.

 

I called Acura, and was referred to this number (1-888-549-3798), where Andrea, the DVD lady, told me that they were having some problemas with their site, and they would cancel my order.

According to both Acura (Mon @ Customer support), and Andrea, Vol. 2.04 CONTENT is the SAME as Vol. 2.03!!! 2.04 just has improved "colors" (resolution?). Andrea suggested that I wait for Vol. 2.05, due out by the end of September or early October. And that's what I'm gonna do.

 

What is the heck with their Release numbers:
2.03, 2.04, 2.05?!!! these are minor bug fixes releases, where is release 3.x!!!!
