Next Gen CL

Hello, I just registered, I currently own a '00 Green TL, and also a '99 Yellow Mustang GT. After getting the TL, I really started to like Acura's, especially after driving my buddies CL-S with some mods. So Ive been thinking of trading my mustang in for like a 01-03 CL-S, and have found a couple of very enticing deals. But what Ive been wondering does anybody know if Acura is going to replacing the CL with another two door coupe anytime soon. From whatever reaserch Ive done I couldnt find anything on a upcoming replacement. So I was wondering maybe some of you guys might have an insight on something. If not then 2nd gen CL-S it is.

Peace.

Go with a used 2003 CL-S 6-speed. I wouldn't wait for a CL replacement to come out anytime soon, cause it ain't gonna happen.

I wouldn't wait either, just get the CLS now. There arent even rumors out yet about anything upcoming. ACL.com will be the first place to find out if a new CL is gonna come out.

The first part says manual transmission but in the description it says automatic.. Is he thinking SS? They only made 6-speeds on the CL-S, correct? or did they make a CL-P 6 speed also?

The only 2nd Gen w/a manual tranny is the 2003 CL-S 6spd.

What drivetrain is your Stang GT?

If its auto's and you like Auto's try and get an 03 but in the Anthracite color. Can't beat that combo.

I really dont mind if its a 6speed or an autostick, the only 6 speeds i found were all colors that I did not want and with some nasty interior. From what I understand the 01-02 models had tranny problems, what kind of tranny problems are they.

All the autos have a tranny problems and have a 7 year/100k extended warranty.. If you're planning on doing any mods to the car I def recommend the 6-speed.. They are rare..

Its the Anthracite color.

The 01-02 CLs had a problem with the tranny burining up the 2nd and 3rd gear clutch packs causing slippage and in rare cases, the trans would lock up.

I would choose a pink polka-dot 6-Speed with a purple interior over a Gold Plated Slush-Box Auto.

Ya, or get a 1 year old G35.

I dont think I'd dump $$ into something that has been discontinued like the CLS. CLS will depreciate fast being an 03, and you'll still be paying a bit for it. And 01-02 will have taken most of it's hit already.

03 6speeds are in the low $20ks, depending on mileage. 01 automatics are $15-20k now.
But, get the 6speed if it's at all near your budget, but any CL will be a step up from a Mustang, IMO.

Did '00 TL's have the same tranny problem that you guys are talking about?
