Any body from this great state that has/had a traffic violation in the past 2 years? I just got some letter saying that i owe the dmv or whoever 300 dollars for having 6 points on my license for a speeding ticket almost a year ago and a stupid no right turn in a private neighborhood. shit completely ruined my weekend. Does anybody know how to fight it or i just have to suck it up and bomb the dmv?

im the master of NY tickets and summonses....you can request an appeal and have a court hearing if you like and fight it, but at this point since its so far from the incident i dont know if that will be successful. But you can give it a try. You think you got it bad, i have to pay 300 dollars a year for the next 3 years to the NY DMV for having too many violations in a set amount of time (6 summonses in 3 months...it was a bad summer for driving)

 

Might want to search ramblings, I believe soopa has had over 20+ tickets in NYS and seems to have done a good job of getting out of them. If you've already paid the tickets, then the points are staying and defensive driving or traffic school should help reduce the points you have.

 

ugh one in queens county and one in nassau, man im in the city now i dont even get to see my car, and i still have to pay for it. i paid for the tickets cuz i was too lazy to fight now i regret not fighting it. bullshit eRG

 

I'm still fighting a fine for a cell phone ticket.
