New Tranny Installed
Got my car back Tuesday night from Acura West in Ellicott City. They had it for 12 days
The shifting feels very different with the new tranny / PCM. At first it was doing the 1-2 shift at like 6500 RPM and before it would hit 6900 everytime. Today it was shifting closer to 6900 though. The biggest difference is the 2-3 upshift. OMG it is so much quicker. Its almost immeadiate. I like it! It just feels like overall it shifts quicker when you are at wide open throttle.
The service guy said that when my 3rd gear clutch pack exploded it took out 2nd and the reverse gear also. (That would explain why I couldn't get it in reverse afterwards) You would shift into reverse and it would just sit there and you could rev it all you wanted at it wasn't going anywhere.
Also, on the test drive after they installed the tranny they noticed my passenger headlight was out. The afternoon before the tranny died I disconnected the road lamps and cut the power and ground wires. When I was driving around the night the tranny broke I noticed the headlight was out. I later found out that I needed to connect two power wires on the passenger side to get the light back on. The dealer told me they replaced everything in the entire headlight system trying to figure it out and they were stumped! All they had to do was call me! I didn't ask them to touch the headlight. So in the process I got all new headlights.
