Not that you can really understand that translation... but it seems like they are saying that the Insipre is going to get a different engine then the TL (part where it says they used to import from North America) ... so those change may be on the Japanese model only.

We'll know soon enough as an official announcement should be coming in the next 3-5 months.....

They were refering to the displacement-on-demand features the new Cadillac Northstar engine will employ. It is basically shutting down cylinders when at cruising speed; not delivering fuel and spark to some of the cylinders.

This noticeably increases fuel economy.

It didn't work before when Caddy had it on their "4-6-8" engine in the late 70's, why do they think it would market now?

The 4-6-8 engine was not sound. With the increase in technology, the bugs will be worked out.

Besides fuel economy it would cycle cylinders on and off if the engine was overheating. I wonder how much this actually helped though. But it was another "feature'

Now that each fuel injector and each coil-over-plug is controlled by a fast micro-processor it can work.

The '70s attempt at the 8-6-4 had too much elementary mechanical influence. The current system uses the same controls as with normal driving just with revised software.
