Whats up folks?
Last week I purchased an 03 CL-S auto ( was hoping to find a 6MT but there weren't any within a decent radius ) with about 45k miles on it. Excellent condition, navigation n all that. I didn't buy a certified one, however it did come with a pretty good aftermarket warranty. After fiddling with it for the past week I had a few questions:
How much does 45K Maintenance cost and what all is done? I'm not sure if mine has had it done, however I'm willing to pay for it again for piece of mind.
How does one reset the pin# in the Navigation system? I can't seem to program my home location because both user settings have pin protections on them.
What combination of 18 inch wheels and tire sizes would I need to keep VSA in proper working condition?
Is there a place where I can find the stock deck spoiler for a fairly reasonable price?
Also, I heard about the autos having tranny problems and a warranty being extended on them til 100k miles, does this apply to all 03s?
Lastly, does the K&N drop in improve mileage? I'm only gettin like 340-350 miles per fill up o 93 octane, is this normal?
Sorry if I sound like a complete nub I didn't find much info in the FAQs. Hope to be an active contributor to this board. Thanks

- 18x7.5 & 235/40/18 tires seem to be the popular choice. You want as high of an offset you can find if you plan on putting on springs.
- Ebay always has replica spoilers, and of course there are some that turn up here. Go to offtopic, there is a blackmarket there.
- I believe it covers all the 03's also, but you can always call customer care and they'll punch in your VIN and see what recalls/warraties you have.
- I dont believe it increases mpg to any noticable level, but it'll give ya a couple extra hp and you wont have to buy another filter ever again. I usually get just about 350 miles to a tank, but if I drive like a granny I can get over 400. If you fill up as soon as the gas light comes on (just about 3 gallons left) that means you are gettingg ~ 25mpg combined, which is pretty good. Next time you fill up reset the trip odometer and then on your next fillup divide the number of miles by the gallons used. I do this for every tank to track my mileage.
Hope you enjoy your stay, and :ibsomeonesaysgetsprings:

I've actually heard on the contrary, that cruise control decreases your mpg... can someone step in and possibly verify or refute for me?
Congrats on the new ride...
:ibsomeoneusesthisthreadisuselesswithoutpicssmiley :
I would imagine resetting the navigation is as easy as resetting the radio and just disconnecting the battery... I'm not absolutely sure on this one though...
and 340-350... is already really good. How conservatively do you drive?
.. I'm happy when I hit 300, and when that's the case, it's practically all freeway driving... I HATE Los Angeles.
And get some damn springs.
Congrats on the new ride...

i use cruise control all the time on the hwy and it does increase your mileage significantly
350 miles is probably a 50/50 split between freeway cruising @ 80 mph, 25 miles a day to work, and carving up back roads with many pleasurable throttle stomps. I suppose I get good mileage.
Is there a number you can call to see what service was performed, if it was done by a dealership? Also, if anyone is in the MD area and can point me to a reputable Acura Dealership that might be mod friendly.
I'd probably only be getting some sort of intake, maybe springs/shocks and some new wheels.
