There are old threads about people who planned on trying it. Never happened though.

Angel eyes = rice

Just my

However a projector retro fit would be nice. My idea is to install projectors into the high beam areas of the head lamp housings and just reverse the wiring so they come on as low beams then aim the OEM HIDs higher and use them as high beams

It won't look OEM that's the problem. It's one thing to do a quick photoshop. It's another to actually do the retro-fit.

RL headlamps...

The guidance system for turns may not be available....

But I'm sure there's a way to retrofit the new RL headlamps onto our CL's. A little bodywork might be necessary, but ....

Wish i had the money to drop into it...but....

A lot of but's...hmm...

The RL projectors are pretty large if I remember. I think the TSX ones would fit. If not look into aftermarket projectors. There's a few that are pretty small that will work. You don't have to go insanely small like the 350Z but I'd be afraid of using the TL or RL projectors.

i was going to do a retro a while back and put a rx8 projector (they are pretty small) in my highbeam spot and aim it wayy low and put a 3000k phillips HID kit in there but when all was said and done it was gonna cost me almost 600 on the parts alone so i canned the idea. whatever you do dont order those projectors or you can say goodbye to your light output and quality as those are not HID projectors. if you really want to do a retrofit you need to invest good money in good parts or its gonna look like rice. and if you got HID projectors you would also need D2S hid bulbs instead of D2R. if a retro is done right it can look flawless if not it will look shitty like steve said.

heres a pic of a tC that i found that has a OEM BMW retrofit with angel eyes and it looks flawless

so as you can see if its done right it can look very OEM but it takes the right selection of parts to do so. if you need any tips just PM me

i have some OEM rings from BMW the bigger ones for sale and optic wires, there are i think about 6 rings and if you see here, this is what im working for my 1st gen for over a year now in R/D

too many hours at work and so little time with my new house, the project is on the back burner for a while but heres a pic recently when i got time to do some more work on it

Pics are, the high beam has a Valeo D1S with a frensel lense and the high beam is a oem RX330 fog light, those ones you listed will melt in your housing with the heat that projectors put off and it being contained in a housing inside a housing will be double the heat and no where to escape out to release the heat off not worth it, my high beam fogs are all metal so no melting there, check out this site if you are serious in a retro www.hidplanet.com/forums

but here are my pics of my retro in the work and my custom leds in the projector to give a little blue when the car is parked i can have them on with the angel eyes if i want but just a tease and its on a first gen and the 2nd gen housing is perfect housing for a retro, with the room you have you can do anything from a tsx, s2000 and more

btw the high beams still need to be enclosed, i have a metal shroud but i want to fiberglass something to make it look smooth and be a perferct fit for the housing, but chrome is the thing to go for, the metal shroud look perfect too

for the lows i am tossing out the shroud you see in the picture for a LS430 shourd that i have

if you need parts at all i have a bunch on misc shit lying around here i will be willing to part with at a cheap rate compared to what a full pair would cost, i have a CTS set,, 2 RX300 2005 projectors but they are different, one is enclosed and one is open, they are different, a FX35 bixenon 1, a Mazda 3 housing with everything, and more parts to come this weekend i hope from my bodyshop guy

if you need parts ever, i am the hook up on acl.com, email me @ jgiguere17@yahoo.com for pictures you can also see some of the headlights on my cardomain site, i have lots of pictures there too, www.cardomain.com/id/jgiguere17 and also here is a folder with all my pictures collected over the years of doing retros online stored thanks to a member on here

http://www.caffeine.nu/~yoda/projectors/

hope i could help ya out

Hey best of luck man, let us know of any snags or hiccups you run in to. Also don't be discouraged, it's real easy for someone to say something is rice if they don't have the balls or the vision to try it. Look how cool the M5 lip spoilers are on our cars, i bet some clown was like "m5 lip = rice" before the first guy did it.
