New owner of a 2003 CL-S!!!! :-)
Hey everyone! I am a proud new owner of a 2003 aegean blue pearl CL Type-S! I traded my 2002 RSX Type-S which I bought back in August 2001. The RSX was fun, but the CL-S is (substantial!!) Actually, back when I bought the RSX, it was first impression lust, but deep down I really wanted the CL-S. In a way it's a good thing I didn't get the CL-S then as this "final model year 2003” of the CL is the best!! Color matched grill trim (yeah! too much fake chrome before), smoked headlight casings, much better looking tail lights and dual exhaust tips, great wheels, and most idiosyncrasies of 2001-2002 removed, etc.
Anyway, I love my CL-S! Long live its legacy! Here are a few PICS if you're interested

I got the.....
I got the 5-speed sport-shift. OK, OK, before you bite my head off, I have my reasons.
Basically, I've been driving sticks for 10 years now, and granted, they have their merit and fun factor, but in everyday commuting (which is not getting any better) a stick is a pain.
I LOVE driving stick, and when $ permit I'd like to have a "weekend blaster" to fly thru the gears with, (like a Honda S2000) but workweek everyday stuff, not anymore
In any case, that's my choice. My CL-S is still a baby (less than 400 miles as of this post) so I haven't pushed her too hard yet. But from initial seat of the pants feel, this car is ready to move! It easily and comfortably merges with other traffic without a hint of effort. I like that! I like the fact this thing is powerful, sophisticated, and elegant at the same time! Elegance... The RSX did NOT have.

Hope the auto tran is trouble-free. I don't feel like Honda ever addressed the problem properly. At least it will be covered with warranty. My clutch is not covered (no problems) , how convenient for Honda. Hope you got it at a steal, I don't think they are selling too many automatics now.
Price
I feel I got a solid deal.. $28,185 out the door! Sticker is like 31,050 with destination, so, I think I did OK.
Yes, the dealers want to move these cars, and I wanted one!
I pray since it's a 2003 the auto will behave. So far so good. But if not, I know it will be covered!

Ditto on the Congrats...
I've been driving sticks for more years than I want to admit. I had an '01 CLS but always missed driving stick, except when commuting. However, I traded it in for an '03 CLS 6sp and no longer miss driving stick... even when commuting... Actually, I find stick to be better in some commute traffic conditions over the auto.

You got a really tight color!!!!
If I had to do it again I'd either get that or I'd get anthracite. Mine is satin silver.
Congrats on your purchase, its one of the best feelings in the world to smell that new leather, and turn the key and fire her up.
Welcome to the board, you'll slowly become addicted to this place!

I drove stick for a while, got talked into getting an auto when I came to the SF area, but now I'm back to shifting my own gears and so far, so good, even in traffic. To each their own, though, as long as the tranny holds out you got a great car for a great deal. And of course a great choice on color! Enjoy!

transmission problems?
I also just bought my first car (2003 cl-s) about a month ago. My boyfriend has an '01 cl-s and his transmission went out yesterday. Does anyone know if the '03 model has fixed these transmission problems or if they will replace your transmission if anything happens in the future?
