New member with dash question

Hey all,

I'm new to the forum and a new CL-S 6 owner. My car is totally stock and I doubt I will do much to modify it, except for a few cosmetic things. I know you guys get mad when newbies ask questions that have already been answered in previous threads, but I swear I've searched for the last week about this topic to no avail.

My interior is black leather with the brushed aluminum trim pieces, except that there is wood trim surrounding my gauges. It looks so out of place that I have come to the conclusion that it was an aftermarket add-on. I really want to find a brushed aluminum piece to replace it with. I've searched ebay, craigslist, google and yahoo with no luck. Can somebody point me in the right direction? Or better yet... anyone got an extra trim piece they want to sell?

Thanks for the help in advance

Acura sold (wood only)accessory trim pieces for the speedo etc. Why someone would put the wood one on a black 03 that has the silver trim I don't know.
I added an aftermarket brushed aluminum kit to my dash and speedo area. They are apparently hard to find now. good luck and Welcome!

Rockblocker only sells the whole kit... any other ideas where I might pick up just the gauge bezel trim? Would it look shitty just to remove the wood one and paint it?

I guess I could do that too. I'm just hoping that the glue used to hold the wood trim piece won't be a bitch to deal with. Should I just use goof off?

Thanks corrosion! I'll do it tonight! (Hopefully there isn't a reason the last owner put it on - cracks, etc)

I'd try using a heat gun on low or a blow dryer to heat and loosen up the glue under the trim piece and then use the spray glue/residue remover to get the remaining glue off. Just my
