It will be done yet tonight!

1" at both the front corners, 1.25" at the back left, and 1.5" at the back right.

How does that compare?

I was driving into work this morning at about 6:00 AM and the temps were about 35F; the coldest I have been in with the blower. I rolled on the throttle in 2nd and it broke loose easily; this was at 45 MPH already and without any clutch input. I have 235/45 ES100 tires and had been on the interstate so they were warmed up. Another 60 - 80 WHP is bound to create traction limitations well into 3rd. :o

That is about 0.25 more than I have and about what I expected. When I made my RES plate and had it on my '01 CL-S I had plenty of room. After I traded for the '03 6-Speed and I put the plate on I found I had less clearance (and even put a ding in the bottom of the hood).

I suspect the manual sits a little higher maybe as a result of or the reason for the additional engine mounts.

I’m going to do one more test measurement this weekend to be sure. But it looks good for all included vehicles.

One more thing; can you measure from the centerline of the upper manifold cover to the factory installed strut tower brace; in a level fashion?? This may be slightly different for the two vehicles and I want to be sure here as well.

9.25" from the center of the manifold cover to the front of the factory strut brace.

That is exactly what the CL is and is good. I know the TL has a longer wheel base but I expected this dimension to be the same.

Do you want to order 5 or 6, to get the $$$ down? We can send you the money. I'm not sure how much it went up, so I'm not sure if that will make a diffference or not. Just a thought.

Since these are customs I'd rather not order extras until the system is confirmed and tested. They went up $72 so not too bad.

I'll work on discounting when ready to produce multiple units.

I knew that was your direction, and it is good one, just make sure somehow down the line, our discounting includes yours, and then some!

?

Forgive my "DUMB" question, but will the Intercooler ONLY work in conjunction with the SC ?

There is no need for it without forced induction. The reason for an intercooler is due to the fact that gases (air in this case) heat when compressed. The intercooler is there to remove the added heat.

Is the new price for the intercooler with or without the other system stuff (like a water pump, reservoire etc.)?

That is just the intercooler core. The rest of the stuff should just about double this price.

Hopefully; if they didn't get in through production the week I ordered it wouldn't get done until this week. But regardless, it should be soon so start warming up your wrenches and sockets for a test fit on the TL-S.

I almost bought a propane heater T-giving weekend, but the store I went to did not have one, and as I said, it was only 40*, so it wasn't that bad yet. However,... there will be heat in the garage soon, as I do plan on working on the TL-S over the winter because of all the things you have brought to fruition. My plans over the winter include an Intercooler kit, a new gauge pod, rewiring the gauges and wideband, E-Manning the ECU, a new cat back (?), and who knows,...maybe some sort of traction bar up front.

Guess what arrived yesterday...

I don't have a camera right now and I will be taking it by the machine shop later so no pictures until it is ready. But that shouldn't take more than a few days.

It is slightly different than what was shown in the simple images available. I had asked from mechanical drawings but was told they are not available. Due to these differences it will require some slight alterations which will be transposed to the drawings when complete.

I'll post the pictures when ready.

Yep, the simple pictures appeared to have had a slight lip to the ends but that is far from being the case. The end cap for the water flow on one side is nearly in line with the IC core face.

What will be required is to cut off the two back plates and cut them shorter. The IC will then sit flush and can be welded up.

I thought I was crazy to do a 3.5 swap and supercharged. But you are the man. By the way I blew my engine boosting at 6psi. I knew that engine didn't like the pinging. I will try to post some pictures of my swap in progress.

Huh, what blew in it??

Several of us have been running more boost for longer and have healthy motors. There must be something going on with that fuel supply.

This was from the bad dyno post;

I removed the head last night and I got a blown #2 cylinder piston rings. The piston was damaged but I think that was due to me driving it more then 50 miles after the rings were blown. I have a auto trans CL-S and yes I was only boosting 6psi, hell maybe 5.5psi. I have a dyno chart with a/f and it show that I was running rich, so that was not detonation due to lack of fuel.

Maybe the ring was bad all along and became visible (audible in this case) when boost was applied.

Please keep us informed of the status.

How many miles did your car have on it, when you installed the S/C'er?

And I did notice your out in CA, the highest OCTANE available to you is 91 octane?....... that would worry me.
