I'm torn between the two. I like the sleeper look; not giving away anything about the car. But I think the polished might just give it an edgy look that I might like.
I should have complete IC kit costs, including the differences, later this week.

Well we know Brad doesn't care... Eric will want the sleeper look.... I am cool with whatever.... I agree, I like the sleeper look... We might need to stay that route since I am sure the polished won't always stay looking POLISHED all YEAR round..

Simple put.. Yes it will... but the Superchargers are alittle different..

It also gives us a better selection of coolers.
BTW, I'm also trying to track down the MAP and IAT electrical connector manufacturer. This way I can make premade extensions so that no splicing is required. Or maybe I am taking this too far...

Hey Smitty - Yea, I'm looking at the 3.5L upgrade w/ tranny and CT SC w/ IC or custom turbo w/ IC (CT SC being the much easier of the two). Anyways, that's good news about the IC!
My schedule looks like Wilwood brakes and CAI to be installed next week, sways & exhaust next month sometime, and then 3.5L upgrade w/ tranny by the end of the year. S/C would have to be next year sometime.

No luck yet, the shop has it on the schedule now though and promises to get it in next week. I am certainly getting anxious as the cooler air in the morning is welcome and more enjoyable. I could only imagine what it will be like with COLD air.
Cold being relative since we currently have about a 125 degree temperature rise. This IC should remove about 100 degree of that...

One more thing, although the shop is booked and delayed in making the IC; IMO that is a good thing. Considering I see the orders in house means that he has business.
But more importantly and after a talk today I found out his true love for cars. Not only does he make some parts for WRX crowd he also has an old 240Z ('72 model) which he previously rallied. But since the SCCA pulled out of supporting the rally scene many years ago for a short period, they converted this car to a street machine.
Guess what they dropped in it, a built GN drive train. They did everything from the engine and transmission mounts to the new wiring harness. But on a trip around Atlanta Motor Speedway with the Southeast Z-Club chapter he ran a little too much boost along with a small problem and blew a hole in a piston.
But now, when he finds the time, he has a new motor and transmission going in. This is an old 2400 Nissan Turbo I6 motor stroked to nearly 3.0L. With a fully balanced bottom end, knife edged crank (he pulled the pan to show me), ported and polished ports with titanium valves and beryllium copper valve seats. In other words, a nicely prepped engine which he estimates at about $15,000 but should make well over 400 HP reliably in track conditions.
When having a shop do this type of work I like to have someone who knows what the parts will be used for and also applies his own work.

I just got a call from the shop and he will be finishing up the base plate in the morning. I'll try to run by there tomorrow or Friday to take a peak. I'll test fit it and snap a picture asap.

I just picked up the base and will test fit it this weekend. It look great with the radiused runner inlet. Below is a picture I snapped with a WebCam but will take a better picture tonight when I get home.
I forgot my gasket at home to match up that that will also need to wait.

It looks narrower in the middle than at the ends. It must be an optical dillusion from the WebCam.

That is an illusion; it is straight with a 3.5 inch width the entire length. Even my glass desk has a curve on the edge of it in that picture.

On a 300 WHP car we might expect increases to 330WHP - 345WHP.
Without a doubt we will have a denser charge; that part is a given. What is not known is the effects of the manifold change and the way the ECU will react to the cooler air.
Concerning the change in manifold, this is a simpler design with less turns and an easier transition to the runners. In fact, there may be more equal supply to all cylinders. This change should enhance under boost functionality and response.
The one concern I have is that the cooler air will be seen by the ECU and too much timing may be added. I want the ECU to see the cooler air so that it adds the additional fuel that would be required. However it might also add more timing that we want. This we will need to wait and see so time will tell.
