Comptech intakes? I don't believe they make one for the CL. The most popular intake is the one from AEM.

Well, sort of, but not yet. Comptech is working on their Icebox Cold Air Intake, but it won't be released until their supercharger comes out (early next year?). I really like their stuff, although I heard it's gonna have a foam-type filter instead of the preferred K&N gauze in the AEM CAI. However, I'm still gonna wait 'n' see what Comptech comes out with and then decide.

Check their website for more info www.comptechusa.com/

Another $1000 and get headers. :p

Or you can get an AEM CAI for around $300 installed.

If you want better handling (corners), get sway bars from Comptech.

You engine definately sounds louder, but you have to understand that the CL doens't make that much noise in the first place! U can hear a little more growl in the low band simply because the AEM (or intakes in general) don't have all the sound-absorbing, engine restricitng properties that the stock airboxes have. The biggest difference is when ur car hits VTEC, man does it sound mean!

I noticed that you live in Connecticut. I lived there for a few years, and you've got some GREAT "twisties" in your state! So, SidVicious makes an excellent point and I agree: the "performance mod" you most definitely gotta do first is the Comptech sways.

I just got the AEM intake and i love that growl. But if your budget is $300, i'd get the sways first. They make a huge difference in an area where the CL-S needs it.

I have a story for that Do you know the town of weston, lots of twisted back small roads and hills, so I let my cousin try the backroads, he never did them before. this was a couple of weeks after I got the car, and all of the sudden a dear ran in front of the car, my cousin slammed the brakes and the car stopped really fast, I didnt even feel the abs go on.

The sound of the AEM CAI is quite loud from 5000- to 7000-rpm with WOT (Wide Open Throttle). When driving around "normally", the car is quiet. There are some "small" noises that it emits when starting up and shutting down (little hissing noises).

I'm pretty sure a "quieter" version of the system could be developed, but most people like the intake growl at WOT. So, there are ways to silence the growl, but it would be a project...

It's not going to growl unless you are in HIGH RPM's.....it won't happen in reverse.
