New Front End Noise

Whenever I am slowing down, or stopping and then accelerate

I get a loud groaning/creaking noise from the front end.

I think it might be the suspension or sway bar.

Anyone have any issues with this ?

Also what is the average time to have new Shocks/Struts installed in a car ??

perhaps one (or more) motor mount brackets are broken. i would have the sway bar brackets and suspension links checked first however.

Have the subframe bolts checked as well, I think my problems started that way and they began to loosen up enough to make an actual clunking noise. The motor mounts seem to be a common problem, but someone told me it could be the amount of torque in the car, not that it is much compared to other cars.

[What would cause a Motor Mount to break ?]
the engine mount brackets are composite construction . steel bracket mountings with plastic vibration isolation inserts . its this "plastic" component that degrades/breaks causing the mount to fail.

I've known three people who have broken their motor mounts (not acura owners, btw), and all three of them did it the same way. They all shifted from one gear into Drive, and hit the gas before the tranny locked into D. Now, you would think that this would your tranny, but when it doesn't, and the tranny happens to catch the gear right, it jerks the motor..... hard!

That being said, all of these motor mounts that I saw break were somewhat deteriorated, so the cause that AuCLSman is talking about definitely contributed to the problem.

When I drive and want rapid acceleration at 50 or so, I drop it from Drive to 2nd gear, and at the same time hammer the gas....now I dont if this contributed to the following but 17k miles later my tranny was replaced and a motor mount was found broken and replaced. I have an auto tranny

I had a problem with noises in the front end whenever the weight of the car shifted. It started off quiet, but got worst. I brought the car in for the 7500 mile checkup and they replaced the lower control arm.

Got the same type of noise again at around 15K, but this time it was familiar. Had the passenger side lower control arm replaced then.

I think my car was built on a friday afternoon or monday morning...

It's not a typical problem, but it was one I had.
