Smile New to the forum, just got a CL Type S about a month ago

Hi everyone,
I recently bought a 01 CL Type S last month. I always like the style of the car but never got the chance to find one for to a decent price. So far I changed out the oem radio radio to an aftermarket because the volume knob was acting up. I also changed the cluster bulbs to leds(bought from vleds) and the interior bulbs as well. I recently purchase a set of Eibach springs off craigslist but waiting to install them when I get some wheels. Well just wanted to hi to everybody

congrats on the new car!
FYI I'd make sure you got at least 1- 2gs in the bank ready for a tranny incase it does take a dump. Not saying it will but it's pretty much like flipping a coin, so you wanna be on the safe side.

Change your tranny FLUID this week.... they say to only do it every 96000kms when really you should do it every 30-40k kilometers.

There is a filter on top of the trans between that and the intake. Replace that and do a tranny 3x3 change.

I just had my trans replaced 6 weeks ago.

Preventative maintenance on the CL's will save you big bucks.

welcome to azine BTW and hope all goes well with ur new whip

Welcome JL626.. I just joined the 2g CL club also. Loving it so far. You're already ahead of me, I've only installed my head unit and am working on the rest of the sound system.

Did you find the LEDs in the cluster made it brighter? I want to do the change to change the color, but I'm also interested in having my cluster go a little brighter... I love the white gauges but not the brightest in the evening.

Good luck with your ride, sounds like you're well on you're way!

Welcome! put those springs on first, its not too much extra work just to swap rims. Its better to drop the car on stock rims then not at all.

If u r gonna change the springs the shocks r prob on there way out and lowering it will kill the oem struts so why do the job 2X do it once with shocks and then u will not have to worry for anouther 100K miles!

Thanks for the tip, I recently changed the tranny when I got the car. The guy who sold it didn't have the money so I picked it up and had my dad who is a mechanic swap the tranny. But thanks about the info on changing the fluid

Changing the cluster to leds made it a little brighter and gave it a way cleaner look. It is worth money and it is very easy to do. Shouldn't take more than 30 minutes to take apart and put back together. If you do decide to change it, remember to buy bulb 74 with 3 bulbs rather than 1. It makes a difference because you will have darker spots
