new to forum

New to the forum so just wanted to introduce myself - just picked up a 2001 CL-S w/148k miles. So far I am impressed with how the car drives and runs with this kind of mileage. Also have a 2007 G35 sedan/6 spd but I have been driving the Acura since I got it.

No - Original was replaced at 95k. First thing I did was flush out the evil Honda fluid and put in Redline D4. Probably put a trans cooler on for summer. The trans doesnt seem to act up but I was well aware of the issues when I bought it.

Thanks for all the welcomes.

As far as flushing, drained 4 qts from at pan (run engine briefly to pump out an extra quart from torque converter) twice, then drained and added 3 quarts (11 quarts total).

Also replaced the coolant - that drain in the back of the block is a PITA to get at.

It's up to you and since I did not have an auto CL-S, I can't speak from experience. I'm sure plenty of guys here can chime in, but the old owners knew their shit too. Make sure to check out the FAQ sticky for tons of good info. Welcome again!

There are a lot of opinions on the trans cooler which you can find multiple threads of discussion...but if you think it'll reap some benefit then I say go for it.

I have an auto trans as well. Bought the cooler a long time ago and just haven't installed it yet but always planned on doing so.
