New CL Owner
Hey guys,
I just purchased a black 2001 CL Type S on Monday. The car was a 1 owner, clean carfax vehicle and the price was ridiculous. I know there were transmission issues on this vehicle, but I planned on doing a 6 speed swap as soon as this tranny goes. The car is stock but I enjoy the handling. It is a very fun car with 83k on the odometer. I'll probably do a few basic things like changing the radio, adding a spoiler, and tinting the windows soon. As far as major mods, I will be getting new brakes, and possible coil over suspension. I'll post pics as soon as i can.

Swapping in a 6-speed takes a ton of time and money and just isn't justifiable vs just buying a factory 6-speed. Theres a reason there has only been one or two people that have even attempted it.
Hope you enjoy the car.

Thanks for the feedback. I am enjoying the car. Coming from a 4 door sedan, the driving experience is night and day. As far as the 6 speed tranny, most people who were selling them wanted outrageous prices, or they had 180k+. Lets just hope the automatic holds out for a while. I anticipated a new tranny when purchasing the car and after reading some of the threads on this site, the cost will be a little lower than i expected. Overall, I am happy with the car and can't wait to personalize it to make it "perfect!"

There is a member running that tranny with the comptech supercharger and high boost pulley, and so far so good. Might be a better choice if you ever have to replace the tranny. And Welcome to the site!
