new car questions

WEll as some of you know, I was planing on getting the super charger for the 5 auto.
After much thought I decided to trade my car in for a CLS 6 speed so I dont have to worry about the damn tranny. I know this is a good decision because ill be saving money too. If I wanted to go with the VR tranny it would still cost me about 4k which is about what it will be for the six speed rade in. So any way what do you guys think of the chance of me getting a six speed in the same color (BLK) again? Im not even counting on it. I cant even find one any where. any suggestions?

Come up to Toronto, there are 2 '03 CL-S's black 6MT's for sale, that i've found. i've been looking for a black one for a bit. i just bought 1 of them today. their is 1 left but they're asking a bit more. $28,000 Canadian dollars with
44,000 KM's which for you would be about $20,000-$21,000 US dollars and is about 27,000 miles.

If only you were closer, but then again the speedometer would read Kilometers.

... this is one of those cut off your nose dispite your face threads..

Simple answer... if you do not have the funds to run the supercharger on an AUTO then your not going to have the funds to run it on a 6-speed....

You got to realize, that this is not some kind of maintance free, dealer free fix if your car breaks down.... you better have the bank roll to back up your addiction.... yeah the 6-speed runs great supercharged, but if the tranny blows eventually, who do you think is going to pay for it?

I just installed another Supercharger last week and I had to send the unit back to comptech to get it resealed and the oil changed... Cost.. $40.00 for oil, $105.00 for labor and $470.00 pre-paid shipping to overnight the charger back to Comptech..

just think real long and hard about what your getting into... The owner of that vehicle had close to 1700.00 wrapped into install charges, shipping and misc. parts just to get his car up and running.

just think before you act.. and do not think that things like I listed above will NOT happen to you...because anything can happen.

its not that I dont have the funds. its just that THe six speed is a more realiable tranny then the auto right? Thats the only reason why im going to switch. not just for the super charger thats just plus. i just dont want to have to replace the tranny aften.

Don't give up, one's surely bound to show up for sale in your area. I hope it works out for you because you will really enjoy the 6MT with the S/C installed - you should expect ~305 at the wheels with i/h/sc/b-pipe/e. Maybe another 10-20 WHP with CT flywheel/clutch and ultra-light light wheels. And there's always the HBP and eManage... but I've opted not to do these last two mods because of warranty issues with dealer and CompTech...

I say your plan makes sense. I don't understand people modding on the automatic which fails even under normal loads. Plus the 6 speed is more of an enthusiasts car than an automatic. There are plenty in Florida, just start looking.

If your willing to travel, I'm sure it be easier to find one. The dealer by me actually has one new, with Nav, that I'm sure they'd be willing to deal. Also as for price, I just paid 16 for a CL-P with 24k miles on it, but thats from a dealer. You should probably be able to get between 18k-20k for it. Good luck, I eventually wanna do the same thing as I always fear that one day the tranny is gonna go on the car, plus a siix-speed is more sporty.
