New Car Ideas....CLS....Prelude...Accord...????
Hey guys;
I am going to be looking for a new car soon. I seriously think that my car is cursed. I have thought of every car imaginable and have tried to narrow it down. I am a college student and would prefer not to take out a significant loan out for a vehicle. I would like to keep in the $15-$20k range. The reason that i do not want to spend so much is that I would like to move out and live on my own. ans I would not be able to affors a huge payment for another 5 years and rent as well. Or should i say fuggit and have a sick ass car and bring my dates home each night. hahhaa
Here are the the cars I am leaning toward. All ideas will be thought of. Thanks guys
2001 CLS w/ Nav?? 19-21ish
2001 Honda Prelude?? 16-19kish
A lil more than my budget but....
2003 Acura CL 6spd used if possible? 28ish
2003 Honda Accord 6spd. 25ish
I have done a search and the "nav" option is only liek $600 on a used car, so i definately would like to have that with the CL. The CL just has soo many feaures that it seeems to be the best buy. If i was not in schoool, it would be the CLS 6spd no doubt.

I had a 97 Prelude (same style as 2001), and it was certainly a fun car to drive. A very nice car too, though certainly lacking some of the obvious goodies you get with a CL. I might have bought another one, had they not been discontinued.

I'd go for the 'Lude. It's still a sweet ride, but moving out on your own is worth having just a very good ride instead of a great one. Vinny's got an idea too, check out a used WRX, they're going for decent prices, but I'd find one that hadn't been beaten on too bad.

I dont think a kid in college should be worrying about spending 15-20K on a car, you got other shit and bills to worry about.
But its your money and youll do as you like in which case i say go for a 5th gen prelude

My brother is in a similar situation. He needs to get a new car but doesn't want to spend much. His big thing is, he wants fast but he also wants AWD. He's looking at either a WRX or a used TT. You could probably find one (even a Biturbo Quattro) for $25K or less if you look hard enough.
I think either would be a decent buy but the TT would probably be a good date car as well.

Find beauty in dissonance
Don't forget to factor in the cost of insurance for each car. It may vary greatly.
I would not touch a used TT without a warranty. They're great cars. But, I know 2 people who dumped theirs because of repair cost. If you pay your own bills, you want a reliable car in college.

Thanks guys for all your imput...I am surprised that nobody recommended a CLS! If it weren't for this damn tranny problem, the CL would be one of the best cars ever made. I still cant wait to drive it everyday, but i am itching for a manual.
