new best 1/4 mile

i went to the track today .it was beautiful out... i forgot the my tire gauge so i left my tire pressure as is but i still ran a 14.563 at 96.30 which i am so happy about.... but of course now i think i could of done better if i played with the tire pressure a little.... but 14.5 w/ just intake is fine with me so 14.4 is possible lol

I care. 14.5 in an auto with just an intake is awesome.

Considering its been warmer then usual here this time of year that makes it even better. Nice run.

I can't find my 14.8 slip but my 15.0 was a 2.27 60ft .. so I assume my 14.8 was a tad lower than that. I didnt really launch at all .. what did you launch at? I also didnt play with the tire pressure.

Don't worry blader, I have headers and icebox and my best run is only a 14.6 @96.25. My best 60' is 2.35 so I know I can do a helluva lot better. Not to mention I ran with all four tires at under 25 psi (I didn't prep them and didn't check them till after I left the track). I assume that with a good launch and tires at a decent pressure I can run a 14.4 @ 97-98 but who knows. I plan to get rid of the stockers in the spring/summer so hopefully that helps!

Oh and really nice times ga2000!

mrsteve lets see did u adjust your tire pressure i didnt ..if i did im sure i would of got your time if not better .. my best 60ft for the day was 2.239 which for me is not that good..i usually put down 2.2x area but my best was 2.21 if i adjusted my tire pressure i would of got high 2.1s and probably beat your time

I had a 2.182 best 60' time. I had two more 2.1xx and the rest were consistantly 2.2xx.

Best ET of 14.510 @ 96.49. With another 14.570 @ 95.92 right after. My 60' dropped to 2.211 that time. My next runs were 2.211, 2.212, 2.213, 2.210 60's respectively. I am a pretty consistant driver off the line.

Its your own damn fault for not adjusting your tire pressure. Borrow someone's pressure gauge!

NO.

I think based on mine and ga2000's times a 14.4 with Intake is entirely possible. We get much colder air up here this time of year then you ever see down south. I was 11/1000s of a second off from a 14.4 time. And on that run I didn't even have my best 60'! My best 60' was 5/1000s of a second faster and that could easily equate to 11/1000s at the end of the quarter.

You West Coast and Southern guys are just jealous that we have cold dry air from October to March.

The tracks around here are closed till Feb/March. I will be out there as soon as it opens looking for my 14.4 w/Intake only. Although this may never happen because I'm in the market for used Comptech Headers.

Oh by the way. The car is left the way it is on the street with the exception of tire pressure when I'm at the track. Spare tire, tools, back seat, etc.

EDIT: Oh yeah, Good luck ga2000.

Jealous? I think not. I don't need extremely cold weather to run that time. It was at least 90 when I ran my 14.5.:P Also, it does get decently cool down here. Today it's 40 and expected to dip to the 30's later this week. I remain strong in my statement that pimpscls will never run 14.4 with just an intake.

Pimpscls may not, but I will. I was only 11/1000s of a second off!
