New to the Acura scence

Hello I just recently purchased a 03 CL-S 6 Speed. I love the and think that it was worth the wait. The car I had before this was a 99 honda Civic Coupe with mildly built GSR which was fast but the CL still feels all around better. I had to take a loss and buy the car from carmax for $19k wit 59k on the speedometer but I needed a car now and couldnt find one like it else where since its rare. Im looking to just performance wise upgrade it with a Comptech ICE Box because I wanna keep the engine bay looking stock after 3.5 years of modding my old Civic so any input on the Ice box would be nice. Oh and I have already pealed off the carmax sticker off the trunk, no haggle that lol.

Here are some pics:

This is why I had to get the CL.

This is what did all that (Some old ass Buick). To give a quick summary of what happend I was going through the intersection and the other driver making a Left didnt yeild to me and T boned me into another car, top it off when he saw me coming he floored it thinking he could beat me which is what made it worst. I broke a lot of bones and had a lot of surgery but non the less im blessed and alive and back on the road.

I had to wait and hold my ground for awhile until I found this car because I always said that my next car up from the civic would have to have leather, navi and HIDs and by getting this car I got a bonus 6 speed when i was at the point where I really didnt care to have either a stick or auto. Also after reading so many people on here talk about how they regret not getting Navi I promised myself not to buy a CL or TL that didnt have it.

Welcome, I would highly recommend the Comptech Icebox and Header combination. They are expensive, but worth it and your car will still have a stock appearance. The rest of the Acura exhaust is not very restrictive, so no real need to replace it.

Good luck

JDM B18C GSR engine with recently before the accident upgraded b16 tranny, skunk 2 stage 2 cams skunk 2 manifold and some other stuff. Never got a chance to get it tuned and Dynod after spending about 5grand or more on just those upgrades. The swap itself cost me 5 grand 2 years ago. Mt best 1/4 time in that civic wit the swap alone was just 14.6. I was hoping with the set up i had before the accident hit 13s but didnt get the chance. Part of me wants to be done with the whole performance modding car thing and the other half of me still has an incomplete feeling for not breaking in the 13s with the civic. I mean im sure I can break 13s with the CL with just a fraction of the price it would have took to do it in the civic but I just dont know if i can handle losing another investment. This may sound funny but when i was in the hospital I was crying when they told me the car was a total loss, people were looking at me like i was crazy, lol. But that car was a big part of my life for 3.5 years which was my biggest mistake.

Good to see you're alright after the accident. That looked pretty bad.

I know how you feel about the Civic. It sucks when you put a lot of time and effort into something and it suddenly gets taken away. I almost had than happen.

13's is difficult to do all-motor, especially in a 6th gen. Was the motor a complete loss too? You could always swap it into a $500 EF hatch and probably run low 13's no problem.

I hope you got a good settlement out of that. Sounds like the guy that hit you was a complete idiot.

well look at it this way, at least the cls-6 will run faster out of the box than your civic.
