if you have sways they are compliments for springs and the strut tower bar is compliment for sways. the car handles perfect now just like a go cart

i agree but.........

just b careful...the back can come loose b/c there's not as much rigidity as the front

sometimes when i autox, i take the upperstrut bar out b/c of that...last weekend is a perfect example y...i actually managed to get sideways before recovering b/c i took a 45 degree turn too sharp too fast

depends on what u got...i had the upperstrut bar first before springs or sways...u can tell the difference from stock, but u can't do much with it b/c the boat feel doesn't go away...once u have springs and sways, u can really tell the difference when the back starts breaking loose during hard cornering

cost is about $120

i could see this as a problem

but when i had my comptech sways in the car just didnt feel balance. the front end of the car felt like it would slip more than the front and the rear just felt real stable during turns and cornering thats why i elect to get the strut bar.

the front end feels a lot more planted like shawnS said so im i happy camper.

i also tried to avoid getting the strut bar because the cl-s already has a stock one. on my previous car accord v6 i put the neuspeed bar and it was definetly noticeable with the first turn. but i can see now that getting the strut bar for our cars is no waste...

i think the front end feels just a tad bit more stiffer.

got it at www.carparts.com for $98 shipped for the chrome polish

u have to use a coupon code which u can find just running a search at google for 10% off otherwise its like 108 shipped

if u get it from carparts u have to search it for a 2000 honda accord v6 to get the part number

I agree. You need to learn how the car is going to handle when you really push it.

the only problem will be the front strut tower bar

IT WILL NOT FIT

you have to remove the stock strut bar for it to install.

i am now curious about the tie bars

does anyone know how well these tie bars perform???

with my comptech springs sways tockico shocks/strut and neuspeed strut bar the car handles great but the ride is sooooooooooooooooo stiff. sometimes especially going over speed bumps it makes me feel bad that i lost the nice smooth ride quality. all i know is that i will NEVER drive a stock cl-s every again or ill just want to put all my stock parts back on the car. i am just getting used to the stiff stiff stiff ride...

peiqinglong:

How much clearance do you have between the exhaust (flex joint) and the lower bar (LOWER TIE BAR)?

It's hard to tell from the picture...

I have the Neuspeed unit in addition to the stock strut bar. I've removed the unit twice now to see what it does or doesn't do.

1. I will not make the ride harder.

2. It will reduce a bit of front flex and will "help" keep the front geometry where it should be with fat tires, sways, etc. There is an obvious difference (to me) in steering feel and front grip.

3. Helps with turn in.

4. Helps with front flexing. -> I run the right side of a car up a two-entrance driveway with cement sidewalk between both driveways. This allows me to have the wheels on one side of the car "exercised" (they go up a ramp -- then steady and up about 10 inches -- then down). With the strut bar, a few of the minor dash "creeks" go away. Without it, they come back.

Someone mentioned the Auto-X issues -- oversteer:

BTW, normally improving the geometry and ability to stick in the front will make the car tend towards less understeer (the car's flex is minimized and the ideal geometry isn't altered. However, it's not a great thing to adjust a car's handling by removing chassis stiffening. To be clear -- the normal effect of increasing roll stiffness (thicker front roll bar) in the front is to actually increase understeer!

I didn't think it was a leaf spring or a roll bar! :P

Yeah, I got that bud...

after looking at the cusco front strut tower bar, wouldnt the neuspeed front tower bar perform better because its a single bar vs a a flexing bar like the cusco.

I don’t care for the design of that CUSCO upper bar.
The Neuspeed bar is a single welded piece of steel that is bolted directly onto the shock tower.
The CUSCO one transfers the load through the bar, through that horizontal pin arrangement and then through that welded plate that looks quite thin.
There’s too much redirection of forces and too much hardware that can work itself loose.

Shawn S

PS…. My opinion is based on my occupation as a Mechanical Engineer.

The picture above shows the lower bar installed with Comptech Headers.
They’re old and grimy, but they’re definitely Comptech’s.

ok, so as far as suspension mods go, we have:

sways fr/rr:most go with comptech
springs:most go with comptech
strut braces:
upper:either custco or neuspeed
lower:just cusco??
tires: anything but stock

first time i've seen a lower strut brace. and what about rear strut braces? same as the Accord?

I dunno...you would think. But supposedly cusco is widely used as JDM and also I've seen quite a few of their stuff on drifting cars.

For springs you should add Teins

LOL...I'm sorry, I didn't mean to insult your intelligence...I just wanted to be specfic because there have been some people, including me who have confused that for a rear swar bar.
