So as some may know I had the Trans rebuilt again. I was shown the clutches he pulled out they were pretty worn so that's been fixed. Trans cleaned, new tw converter, valve body update, and total valve body cleaning and actuation tested.
Car gets put back together it shifts like butter. But I get a minute flare under barely any throttle.monce the engine is all warm.
On a side note the battery was pretty toast and would not hold charge. Had to jump it to start it. Then when u leave it for only a few hrs the battery was literally dead dead.
So last night I drove up a brand new optima yellow top battery. Yellow top because my under drive pulley cannot charge the car will all the accessories going and that's what killed my other batteries prematurely.
My question is if anyone has a clue where to look for the flare culprit.
Now I drive this car exclusively in the city for whatever that's worth. So it shifts non stop.
My mechanic told me we need a new battery or else the diagnostic test is basically worthless. We did not drive it after the battery install cause it was 9pm and we were kinda just tired at this point. So I guess if I'm actually lucky it's going to be the battery not giving enough power at low throttle to make the Trans actuate properly.
But if it is not he said we gotta look at the throttle body tps. And you need to buy the whole throttle body which is 920$ in Canada!
I'm stumped at this point guys. The car hauls ass. No issues if ur foot is on the gas 30% or more so it's gotta be electronic or something. Cause he's rebuilt it 2 other times and it's be problem free..
This flare happened before I brought it to him. I thought it was the Trans he pulled it apart and the Trans was pretty toasted so no fault there. But now that that is fixed and the flare is still there I'm like.. Wtf
